Fala Chen Resumes Work After 1 Month Break
Fala Chen (陳法拉), Sire Ma (馬賽), Samantha Ko (高海寧), Suki Chui (徐淑敏), and Jess Shum (沈卓盈) appeared in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday to attend a Lunar New Year dinner. During her 1 month vacation, Fala visited her parents in the United States and also traveled to Japan with her boyfriend, Daniel Sit (薛世恒).
Earlier, the photos of Fala’s parents’ house in the USA were exposed, with tabloids indicating that Fala had gotten secretly married with Daniel, who purchased the house for the Chen family as a bridal gift. Fala denied all the allegations, “The photos were from the previous owners, taken at the time when they had listed the property for sale. Now, the inside of the house looks completely different. My family felt that they lost their privacy and intend to move elsewhere.”
Reported to have suffered from Trigeminal neuralgia (facial nerve pain) earlier, Fala indicated that her condition improved markedly. “There is less pain now; there is no need to take a large amount of painkillers anymore.” (Will you quit the entertainment industry due to illness?) “An actress’ career is very short. I need to take advantage of current opportunities. This year, I will be filming movies and releasing a music album.”

The fact that she said an actress’ career is very short may indicate her plan to quit the business in the next few years or so. For now she’s doing quite well rising to the “top” (in TVB) so it’s good to take advantage of that.
If not the next few years, she surely won’t be acting into her 60s
An actress’ career can be long IF you are successful and want to commit to it. However, it is true that in most cases it is short. I think in her case, it will be since I wonder if she can survive within the next 5-10 years since competition in the circle is really high. Plus, IF she has married Daniel Sit then she may not think she needs to worry about money anymore….
I guess we’ll have to wait and see when Fala announces her retirement.

I don’t think Fala would last very long, quite honestly. 1) She seems to be in a very stable relationship, with a bf/husband that will be able to take care of her for the rest of her life, and 2) she doesn’t seem to be that passionate about acting.
I doubt she will be acting long, not that shes not a good actress it probably because once she’s gets married shell be pressured to have a baby and take a break and will retire..,kinda of like Ada Choi or Flora Chan, she seems like that kind of person.
Well just because she gets married and has a baby does not mean that she has to retire completely. She may take breaks and reduce her workload does not mean that she will retire. There are many actresses that are married with children but still act just like any job…
Her husband is also rich enough to hire nannies and maids
She seems like the person who would want to raise her own child and stuff…but nonetheless I don’t think her career would be her piority…and she will be her sui lai lai.
Glad to see Fala back. Her health is getting better – she gained 10 lbs over break.
…….but I don’t see her gains in weight and size of her boobs. Not fertile! This is indeed sad.
10 lbs is not a HUGE difference, but at least it’s a good progress.
When you gain weight, it does not all go to your boobs. Each person is different. The weight might be going to your face, arms, stomach, thighs, etc.

Trigeminal Neuralgia can be excruciatingly painful and I know because my husband suffered from it. So, I’m so glad Fala seems to have found a remedy for it and that her condition has improved. I think one has to choose, a happy home or a happy career. It will be difficult in Fala’s case to keep a happy balance.
Last time she said she want to act until she win Oscars. Either she getting more mature or because she’s married with a wealthy guy make her change to ‘an actress life is short’ LOL
Maybe she is finally becoming more realistic now?? Also, she may think that since she is “married” or dating a rich guy that she no longer needs to worry about money or supporting herself and her family anymore.
She was probably joking about the Oscars’ comment. Seems like she wants to expand her career in the film and music industries now.
She does look like an ambitious artist from the beginning. TVB won’t be satisfy her.

I don’t like her acting either and feel that she is way overrated(but then again, who isn’t these days??) but good to know that she is better now.

outside the TVB ocean there is an even bigger ocean with natural fishes that are better looking and taste much better, LOL

Obviously, because TVB dramas are so demanding. If I were her, and I were given other choices, I’d choose the other options.

The next Lin Chi-ling, as in just sitting there being pretty, LOL (for example, Red Cliff). If Lin Chi-ling can do that and earn big bucks, I’m sure Fala can too.

I don’t think any of the new fadans can sing (Linda Chung, Myolie Wu, Fala Chen, Kate Tsui or Tavia Yeung, not even Niki Chow). If others do it, why can’t Fala Chen do same?
