Faye Wong’s (王菲) reps have confirmed that she is in talks to perform at a three-day virtual concert that celebrates workers engaged in COVID-19 response efforts in mainland China.
The concert, known as “Believe in the Future” <相信未來>, features a star-studded lineup of popular artistes, including Zhou Xun (周迅), Lang Lang (郎朗), William Chan (陈伟霆), Rocket Girls 101 <火箭少女101>, Wang Feng (汪峰), Karry Wang (王俊凯), Nana Ou-yang (歐陽娜娜), Kris Wu (吴亦凡), and Lay Zhang (张艺兴).
Faye’s manager, Katie Cheung (陳家瑛), told the media that Faye and her team are currently in early discussions about the details of her appearance. According to reports, Faye has already verbally agreed to attend. “Believe in the Future” would be Faye’s first public performance since the 2018 Chinese music show PhantaCity <幻乐之城>.
Similar to “One World: Together at Home”, a concert curated by Lady Gaga that was streamed live last weekend, “Believe in the Future” will also be streamed live.
