Felix Wong Angrily Blasts TVB: “Do Not Rape the Public’s Opinion!”

Leading up to TVB’s 43rd Anniversary, Felix Wong Yat Wah posted on his blog, “Mother, today is your 43rd birthday. Happy Birthday! After leaving for many years, I returned for several months to film series last year.  I still felt the sense of ‘family’ there. I hope that the ‘programs’ you produce continue to do well and that all of your ‘children’ become talents. Signed, ‘Departed from the Family,’ Felix Wong…”

A day later, Felix’s attitude towards TVB took a dramatic turn. He wrote angrily on his blog, “Someone said that a popular drama with good ratings was not given proper attention by the company. It lacked publicity [the cast was promoting the series on their own] and was repeatedly suppressed. An Anniversary series was forced to become transparent on the night of the Anniversary. Where did fairness and justice go?! I, Felix Wong, want to know which company this is?” Felix was breathing fire and later wrote, “Finally, someone told me this was the name of the company: Totally Very Bad. I can’t tolerate it!” (Totally Very Bad spells the acronym ‘TVB.’)

Regarding Felix’s criticism about the lack of regard for Gun Metal Grey, TVB Deputy Director of External Affairs, Tsang Sing Mingreplied, “There are two main reasons. At first the Anniversary production team intended to include both No Regrets <義海豪情> and Gun Metal Grey together. Since Gun Metal Grey was based on Hong Kong ’s true crimes, we did not want to make the police department’s cases  into a form of entertainment. We carefully considered the issue. Another reason was due to the limited time of the Anniversary program; not all Anniversary series could be highlighted in the show. For example, the TVB Anniversary Special Program, Papua Solomons Treasure <森海尋寶> could not be featured. We are not neglecting Gun Metal Grey. On November 25th, there will be a major promotional event occurring for the series.”

Felix Wong Does Not Want to Appear at TVB Anniversary Awards Ceremony

The Sun reporter spoke with Felix further regarding TVB’s response:

F= Felix Wong

S= the Sun

S= What did you think of Ho Lai Chuen’s response?

F= What does this have to do with Ho Lai Chuen? Is he explaining so much to cover up something?

S= The Producer of the TVB Anniversary Program, Wai Sai Fai, said that his cell phone is always turned on. If any artists are dissatisfied, they should call him.

F= My phone is always on too! Did TVB contact me? How come they did not call me? But a big company has their way of handling matters. They do not have to explain so much! Nowadays, the audience is very smart. Do not attempt to cover-up and rape the public’s opinion! Just because TVB says their programs are good does not mean they are truly good!” (依家啲觀眾好聰明,唔好再用陰招強姦民意!唔係佢哋話咩節目好就係好)

S= Will you appear at the TVB Anniversary Awards Ceremony?

F= Who cares about their awards? It is just a game. They give it to whomever they want! I do not want to become a pawn. I have my own style. If I am dissatisfied, I will speak up!

S= You’re not going to film any more TVB series?

F= We’ll talk about that later. They are two separate issues. Let’s worry whether Gun Metal Grey will be cut!

S= You have been so outspoken .Are you afraid of retaliation?

F= What am I afraid of? That I will be banned from TVB City ?

Michael Miu’s More Mild Response

Gun Metal Grey <刑警>cast member, Michael Miu Kiu Wai commented on Felix’s displeasure, “I totally agree! How come Gun Metal Grey was not visible at the TVB Anniversary? It is not the company’s fault, but perhaps man-made?” Speaking with the press afterwards, Michael said, “It doesn’t make sense.” Asked whether TVB invited him to attend the Anniversary, Michael said, “No, that’s why it’s strange.  Why don’t you reflect on this for us?”

Michael Miu also noted that TVB should have contacted him personally. Regarding Ho Lai Chuen’s explanation, Michael said, “I do not have an opinion. Thanks Mr. Ho for responding!” (Will you appear at the TVB Anniversary Awards Ceremony?) “We’ll see what happens. I am busy filming now. Let’s not talk about whether I will attend or not.”

TVB Management’s Mixed Response

In response to the backlash and to pacify Felix Wong and Michael Miu, TVB executive, Ho Lai Chuen, strongly indicated that the cast of Gun Metal Grey will be invited to the TVB Anniversary Awards Ceremony. Will Mr. Ho be issuing an apology? He said, “We will be holding a press conference to address the issue. We will have someone to especially speak with Felix Wong. It has been a long time since he filmed for TVB. The ratings for the series was good. We do not want there to be any misunderstandings.”

The Producer of the TVB Anniversary program, Wai Sai Fai, refused to apologize. “If Felix is dissatisfied with anything, he should let TVB know and should not have gone directly to the press!”

Gun Metal Grey Producer, Tong Gei Ming said, “Felix only spoke from his heart. It was a little unfair. But Wai Sai Fei is a bit passive!” (But Felix said he will not attend the TVB Anniversary Awards Ceremony?) “His position is past that level and he does not care about awards. Despite this, everyone is happy if we all play along with the game.” (He does not want to be a pawn in the game?) “In this world, everyone is a pawn!”

Felix Wong’s Past Record of Criticizing TVB

1995: While filming Justice Bao <包青天>, Felix had romantic rumors with Ada Choi Siu Fun. Allegedly, Felix and wife, Leung Kit Wah, fought over the issue. After speaking on the phone, Felix angrily punched the mirror at the TVB City make-up room. His right hand bled and the injury required stitches.

2002: Felix bluntly said that his days at TVB were very complex and he often offended high-level management. Perhaps this was due to the fact that Felix was unafraid to speak his mind on matters that other artists were afraid to express for fear of losing their jobs. He said he was often summoned for questioning by high-level management.

2005: While promoting Wait Till You Are Older <童夢奇緣>, Felix complained that TVB was no longer the same as past years: everyone looked after their own personal interests, the declining production and script quality of productions, etc. Felix noted that by exposing TVB’s “scars,” it was for the company’s own good.

2009: Felix indicated that he left TVB seven years ago due to declining artist commissions from shows and the long filming hours.

Jayne: As a big Felix Wong fan, I am quite upset over TVB’s fiasco in managing this year’s anniversary program. I don’t think Felix is just speaking for himself, but rather the injustice he felt for his co-stars, Michael Miu, Jessica Hsuan, etc. Everyone put in their efforts for the filming of Gun Metal Grey, yet TVB did not include the series in the Anniversary program and failed to acknowledge these artists.

This incident seems to show the disregard that some TVB management, such as the Producer of the TVB Anniversary program, Wai Sai Fai, for some artists, making them feel insignificant. Perhaps Mr. Wai’s overall poor coordination explains the lack of big stars at this year’s TVB Anniversary and upcoming Awards Ceremony. It doesn’t make sense that artists such as Roger Kwok and Bernice Liu, who are filming at TVB City , can not make an appearance at the annual event. Can’t they take a few hours off in the evening to participate? But Felix’s incident shows that Mr. Wai may have excluded many stars this year.

Instead of talking to TVB management (which will probably fall on deaf ears before it reaches the proper person), Felix spoke directly to the press. It was a very confrontational method and no doubt put him on the black list among some TVB managers. However, I admire his outspokenness in speaking out for his beliefs and tackling an issue many are afraid to talk about.

Felix’s criticism in not “raping the public’s opinion” and pulling the wool over the audience’s eyes was very strongly worded. But I can not agree with it more. Some recent series were over-praised despite their mediocrity. Makes you wonder how much influence TVB Public Relations has over the media.

  1. I don’t think he cares about the blacklist since he has already retired and was persuaded to come back for filming this one series. There goes any future series with Felix. Frankly I thought with this being Felix’s comeback series I would have expected huge promotions. All those excuses about true crime stories etc are just BS don’t you think? A lot of series are based on true stories anyway, so why the lack of promotion?

I wonder how is GMG doing in ratings? Whatever my feeling for its casting decision or the storyline from what I can see from the preview, the fact remains many smaller series are often neglected and yet these are the ones worth watching in the end. I am not dissing No Regrets, that is a quality production compared to others and whilst I disagree with felix’s use of strong word such as rape (did he actually say that?!), I agree with him in his assessment.

“1995: While filming Justice Bao , Felix had romantic rumors with Ada Choi Siu Fun. Allegedly, Felix and wife, Leung Kit Wah, fought over the issue. I didn’t know this. I thought he was so tired that TVB refused to let him have time off or a more flexible schedule allowing more sleeping time that he got so frustrated he punched the mirror (I don’t recall it being a make up room, I thought it was a van).

He has repeatedly and very clearly stated he disliked filming at TVB due to sleep deprivation (the schedule is punishing) and the low salary. He did once stated how he felt he was worth more and he was severely disappointed not being remunerated as per his worth.

I think his criticisms are valid even if too strongly worded. Of all the replies on what he said, I think I was very disappointed with Tavia. Inviting him to the awards is like a double slap on his face. I would rather she just say no comment.

Jess actually have an underhanded reply; meaning as if she disagrees but in fact reading the translation of what she said, it gives me an impression that she agrees with Felix totally. Things have changed, politics have changed.

    TOTALLY VERY BAD… COOL!

  2. Felix was right that TVB has poor management and production quality. Many productions and events are often poorly done and mediocre at best. I myself is exposed to a lot of overseas productions with much better qualities and while I support and find some pleasures in certain TVB managed artistes I admit that the sloppy management of TVB made me very picky in watching TVB dramas or varieties because of the poor production qualities.

TVB really need to do some quick R&D and post-mortem, and take mandatory action to re-boost their declining production values. Yet they love to stick to the same tried and true principles to gain quick cash and advertisers’ nods rather than improving the company as a whole in their productions. It’s “totally very bad” for my taste that TVB is too commercial. LOL

  3. I didn’t know this. I thought he was so tired that TVB refused to let him have time off or a more flexible schedule allowing more sleeping time that he got so frustrated he punched the mirror (I don’t recall it being a make up room, I thought it was a van).

I didn’t know about the allegations too. All I remember was that Felix often has cool wuxia characters and I didn’t pay attention to old rumors. There were also no internet back then so only print media was accessible.

TVB is infamous for the low payment. Eric Tsang also almost got in trouble last year for publicly grumbling that TVB doesn’t pay the participating contracted artistes’ in his 72 Tenants justifiably. I don’t remember how he amended the situation.

  4. As strong as his words were, I agree with Felix’s comments. Why would he even want to be part of the awards “game?” And yet, is he even invited to the “game” because the way the anniversary show is produced, the “game” is only between CBML and NR. Not to take away from NR as I think it does deserve the hype and praise since it’s also an anniversary series. But to exclude GMG and all other series as even possible contenders in the awards ceremony, that is just wrong and poor judgment on TVB’s part. The only recognition for other series was from the parodies at the beginning and in MC Jin’s rap song. That’s all. If Felix does not attend the awards ceremony, I can understand why. He’s above all awards and it’s all a game as to who TVB wants to win.

  5. “Regarding Felix’s criticism about the lack of regard for Gun Metal Grey, TVB Deputy Director of External Affairs, Tsang Sing Mingreplied, “There are two main reasons. I haven’t finished watching both series (I have only seen up to episode 14 of “No Regrets” and episode 4 of “Gun Metal Grey”) but I find it funny that Tsang Sing Ming said what he said. Um…isn’t “No Regrets” also about the police and corruption back in the old days? Pathetic excuses.

  6. I have not yet seen GMG, but I did see the trailer on the internet and I must say that the story line and acting look brilliant.
In truth, there have not been any good scripts of late and some of the last series have been a bit boring.
Felix and Michael are brilliant actors and their re-newed collarboration is a complete draw card for audiences. I seriously do not think that there are many actors that can deliver on their diverse characters…both can be so convincing in good or evil roles.
I think that TVB is wrong to blatantly exclude GMG from the anniversary series. They like to hold the power and make the decisions for the public and I commend Felix for stating it so bluntly. They do not give each series a fair chance as they pick and choose the ones they like. Both Felix and Michael may be veteran actors and know their worth. They may not care about the best actor awards, but I am sure that they would like a fair chance at being recognised for deliverying a brilliant show. Let the public decide if the series was good or not compared to the other shows. By not giving the show an equal opportunity, is TVB not trying to manipulate the audience and results?
Another thing….”TVB’s Deputy Director of External Affiars Tsang Sing Ming stated that GMG is based on the Hong Kong’s true crimes and therefore did not want to make the Police department’s cases into entertainment”.
Most stories are based on some truth and this seems to be a very weak excuse. If this was the issue, then they should not have authorised the filming of this series. If they were so worried about the entertainment issue, then why bother AND why go through the trouble of getting the actors to portray the parts?
So if they do not broadcast the series as an anniversary series, does that mean it is not using the content as entertainment???
If TVB is upset that Felix went public, well then they need to understand that he is also upset that he was not told that the series was being cut. It seems like corporations think that they have the right to do what ever they want and not consider the heart and soul that the actors put into their work. Go Felix for telling them off!

  7. “Makes you wonder how much influence TVB Public Relations has over the media.”

Doesn’t it? I am still wondering why a mediocre show like CBML got so much press attention. But then again, when all TVB wants to talk about is CBML, then why would the press care about anything else? NR is relatively good, but imo, it’s mainly due to a tremendous performance from Sheren. GMG is overall better, if you ask me.

But that’s really not the main issue. The problem is how TVB completely ignores one of their supposedly anniversary shows at the anniversary gala. And it’s not even a show which gets bad ratings!

And I am so sick and tired of hearing about Moses in CBML. If anything can top Moses ridiculous win for HOG, it would be if he won for CBML! I know that Felix doesn’t have a chance, but there are other shows and actors in TVB!

  8. i understand felix’s anger! he’s been looking forward to shooting another BVT drama again and they gave him this treatment. could it be because he’s still on BVT’s blacklist for his past rants?

i don’t mind if NR was mentioned during gala. in fact, it should deserve recognition, but not CBML! it made it seem as if CBML is the other anniv series, not GMG! how unfair can this can for the cast of GMG? it’s not as if they didn’t put in effort for their drama as well. the fact is, GMG is THE OTHER anniv series, not CBML. talk about BVT loving their own sons and daughters so much! -_-

CBML is a silly show that is undeserving of its high ratings and hype… makes me wonder what kind of crap the hkers like watching nowadays. if there is any drama that up till now is deserving of its hype and praise, it will have to be NR, not CBML.

GMG is going strong, and i hope it will keep up. surprisingly, i like this year’s anniv series! :)) they’re quality productions from BVT that is sorely missing in year 2010.

  9. I wasn’t a fan of CBML and the horrible acting in it to begin with, but with all this publicity that TVB is putting in to hype up the series, it makes me hate it even more. Seriously, if CBML with it’s OTT acting and lame storyline won any awards, it will be an insult to every other series this year. And yes, if I hear about how Charmaine and Moses are shoe ins for the best actress/actor awards again, I want to scream. The way TVB is promoting the series, it is obvious that they want to give the awards to these two. If that’s the case, why not give it to them straught and forget all this laughably transparent charade of an awards ceremony.

  10. A Fistful of Stances > CBML

People should take note I hate Kevin Cheng’s acting, but I still found it a pretty good series.

CBML is just crap. Only because it has everyone TVB promotes whereas GMG’s 3 main stars are all non-managed artists who have shown at variously times they do not intend to be molded by the TVB monarchy.

If Felix watched CBML, I definitely agree with his comment. Praising CBML as if its ‘so good’ is quite ridiculous. The only reasons why I’ll let it slide is because TVB hasn’t really made any other series it can promote.

  11. Felix doesn’t need to worry about ‘revenge’ as reporters call it. The only reason he came back to film GMG was due to a personal request from Michael Miu as this would be their 30th anniversary together in the business.

Oh, Totally Very Bad. 2010 has not been your year. You knew the whole ship would be coming down soon, don’t try to fool us.

  12. Funn, Felix was quoted as using the word rape (強姦) in his criticism of TVB. Unless he was misquoted in the original Chinese article, his choice of words really show his anger the forced action of TVB. I don’t think he is criticizing TVB as a whole, as he still shows his gratitude toward the old organization. But he is upset with some of the management there.

According to Wikipedia, “Gun Metal Grey” averaged 31 points in ratings so far. The top 10 series in ratings all exceeded 32 points in ratings. We still have another week to go for GMG. From the sound of things, Felix felt that better promotion for the series may have boosted the series’ performance, as the word-of-mouth was good.

It still makes me wonder why Michael Miu has been working so hard at TVB? Although he is an easy-going personality, Michael didn’t seem happy with the “Gun Metal Grey” situation either. It doesn’t sound like he needs the money. Is he acting for pure interest? If so, he still doesn’t need to work that hard. He’s always filming non-stop.

  13. I find Felix action with TVB is similiar to his character in Gun Metal Grey, Stone sir. Taking action in what he believes is right and not worried about what the high management thinks of him.

  14. I’m sick of hearing Moses and Charmaine as favourites for TV King and Queen with their less than average performance in CBML. No it was actually craptastic especially Moses.

Moses is a sporting guy and can make himself a fool on stage but this doesn’t make him a good actor. This year he was consistently performing horribly in his 3 series.

  15. “I find Felix action with TVB is similiar to his character in Gun Metal Grey, Stone sir. Taking action in what he believes is right and not worried about what the high management thinks of him”

That’s why Felix is highly respected. Everyone else are too chicken to speak out and following TVB’s words like a dog.

  16. “Everyone else are too chicken to speak out and following TVB’s words like a dog.”

That’s a bit harsh, no? We’re not in their shoes. Some of them are just being prudent, they know which side of their bread is buttered on. Felix is not managed by tvb so couldn’t care less about repercussions.

  17. The dog part is harsh but truth is many are diplomatic since TVB is rice bowl and they’re contract artiste and even if they’re not you wouldn’t want to bite the hand that feeds you. Felix couldn’t care less now (more so now) is because I believe he has retired. He doesn’t need to play by their rules anymore. The rest still need to you know. And this is like the last of studio controlled artistes, TVB holds a tight leash.

  18. *Oh, Totally Very Bad. 2010 has not been your year. You knew the whole ship would be coming down soon, don’t try to fool us*.

Agree with the sinking ship. It would be worst than the Titanic!!!

  19. Anyone feel like Stephen Chan had such a smooth return because of the poor public view on TVB lately?

With all these complaints, I’m trying to figure out who is watching these record breaking rating series!!!!!

  20. Jayne,

I think GMG will make it to top 10 series in terms of average ratings. I think what you were referring to is the top 10 series in terms of highest/peak ratings for a given episode. GMG should also make it into that category.

  21. From the top of my head (please correct me if I’m wrong), the highest rated series that have finished airing are as follows:

    1) CBML
    2) Mysteries of Love
    3) A Pillowcase of Mystery

NR will probably fall in between CBML and MOL, while GMG will probably place right after APOM.

  22. TVB management needs a wake up call fast. This is the second year of crappy TVB mismanagement of TVB once again was WRONG. They really need a slap to their faces!

  23. TVB re-instated Stephen Chan GM position. Something fishy is going on right now.

    TVB = Tragically Very Boring.

  24. All 3 series

    1) CBML
    2) Mysteries of Love
    3) A Pillowcase of Mystery

    are terrible

That shows how the quality is these days. No matter what people still watch because if not, what else? ATV? Sappy Taiwanese series?

  25. Well i do accept that CBML probably attracts a larger portion of HK audiences given its material is family-friendly and is broadcast in the earlier time slot. It naturally leaves a better image by default. Whereas although GMG has a more coherent storyline line, and in my opinion is better, so far the series has been quite bland- there is a lack of suspense. Contrast GMG with NR. NR has so much suspense per episode, yet there is a feeling of excess as certain situations become increasingly contrived to fit into the story and not the other way around.

  26. ^ erm, i thought CBML was broadcast @ 9.30 pm? that’s considered prime-time slot in HK. which is why ratings are that high (coupled with excessive promo done by BVT) but NR is already beating CBML in ratings (in terms of avg per week) despite being in a less advantageous time-slot of 8.30 pm.

i find the cases in GMG pretty silly at times. really can’t wait for felix to get evil soon! that’s when the climax comes in.

  27. @ Rach – I suspect something is off too with Stephen Chan’s sudden return.

& Funn – +1. The fact that those 3 series are the top rated ones so far is indicative. To be fair, I remember watching the sales presentation clips for the 2010 series and remembering that nothing is worth watching much this year. And part of the reason people still watch TVB is because it raised us (something I like to say, haha – hell, I still watch TVB though I complain about it all day). But I do have to say I’ve now carved out my time to watch more Korean and Taiwanese series.

  28. I support Felix, it’s about time someone step up to TVB managements.

GMG is a very good series, sure it contains HK crimes but aren’t most crime drama has similar cases? I’m just find it hilarious when he said it’s based on HK crimes while the whole concept is US’s version of Life.

TVB really needs Stephen Chan. Look at the mess that they created when he was gone. TVB really needs a better internal management.

  29. I thought A Pillowcase of Mystery was good old TVB fun. I enjoyed it very much.

TVB’s politics have always been there even before Stephen Chan’s suspension.

  30. ^ yeah i liked that series too 🙂
I still dont get what happened to stephen chan. Why was he suspended?

LOL i think The Very Bad Industry is better >.<

  31. The Very Bad Industry?

    Oh! I get it! TVBI

    YEAP, brilliant!

Yeap, tell me what happened to Stephen Chan. Because now that he is back and grinning like a cheshire cat, I have no idea. TVB is in a mess, a total management mess.

  32. Eh Eh!! Nothing to do with women ok!!

    TOTALLY VICIOUS BASTARDS

    More like it!

  33. Yeah bad politics was always there even when Stephen Chan wasn’t suspended but it really seemed that things gotten a bit out of control when he was gone. Overall, not a very pleasant year for TVB.

They really need to improve their internal management, it need some new blood to spice it up, contribute fresh ideas. Change in the Deputy Chairman??? Too bad that’ll never happen.

  34. virginia lok + mona fong?? i think they are the ones i was referring to. the men seemed fine to me.

  35. @ Nguyen,

the cases in GMG are different from normal crime shows, because the angle is not the traditional “solve the crime”. Instead, you figure out relatively fast who the criminal is but lack the evidence to capture him/her. Missing evidence is the point and will factor in with Stone Sir’s development to the “evil” side.

  36. I think that Felix Wong was right for speaking out for himself and his co-workers because people should be allowed to speak out for what is right and just. Many people were not included in TVB’s 43rd Anniversary and it could be that they were not invited and dissatified with them.

  37. I remembered an earlier rumor when Felix left tvb was because he was mad that tvb has hong kong pageants that can’t act to work with him. He was mad that you can just suck your way up there and you’ll become somebody.

I also heard that tvb has a ton of youngsters working there as producers etc. The older crew wasn’t there anymore. Tvb drama sucks now. There’s a lot of similar story lines. Editing sucks so bad!!! It was that recent series with Roger kwok and Esther kwan. That editing work in that drama sucks so bad.

Also tvb only uses Charmaine as main actress in 80% of their shows. Linda chung, tavia yeung, bosco, Raymond… Those bunch of people. Very annoying. Cameos are always the same one as well. Just lame. Tvb looks up and gives credit to those that their family backgrounds have money or that you won some pageant. If not you get connections no matter how bad your acting skills are!!!! Hong kong is a fun place but filled with people trying to be cool, high class, wants to be Japanese, think they know everything, and tries so hard to stay updated.

Btw, mc Jin or Jin sucks when he’s in hong kong. He needs to be in the states doin sone freestylin’. Unfortunately he’s got issues with ludacris. He suck so bad in hong kong. What is drink some tea, eat some bun. Also that short guy Justin or whatever sucks in singing as well. He wore a Yankees jersey with a red sox cap!!! Hello do you really don’t know that these two baseball teams are rivals!!!!! He was in a movie with ugly stephy and that weird looking fong lik sun….

There really isn’t a lot of good looking ppl
on tv. Gigi lai is really pretty…others are just passing…

  38. “Everyone else are too chicken to speak out and following TVB’s words like a dog.”

“That’s a bit harsh, no? We’re not in their shoes. Some of them are just being prudent, they know which side of their bread is buttered on. Felix is not managed by tvb so couldn’t care less about repercussions.”

This is the problem with society, selfishness! If things are not right they need to be addressed! Not hidden up! No matter the repercussions, right is right, wrong is wrong.

I rather my plate was clean then dirtied up.

  39. I feel that TVB is depending much more on good actors/actresses rather than a good script. The plot made the characters strong and really memorable with several sound bites, but no one is discussing the storyline as they are too cliche and predictable.

  40. Just finished watching gmc and I must say it’s pretty good. The acting between Michael and Felix was great. Serious people, Moses and Raymond are horrible actors, they are lucky that the writers make them look good. As for big nose Charmaine, she’s pure annoying!!! Yes, she came along way since Snow mountain and flying fox, but her acting is still horrible. Hong kong/ tvb wake up and smell the tofu!!!

  41. I agree, TVB is so terrible now I don’t even watch it anymore. And yes I never saw what was so great about MC. Mediocre actor, mediocre looks and he’s been a leading man for 10 years ? LOL !

Felix is dead right, the scripts are lousy, acting is poor, production is shit and to top it all they are now promoting Indians ! wtf ??

No I don’t watch them anymore. I am more than happy just to catch up on re-runs and those golden series of yesteryear.

The audience is not stupid, soon no one will watch TVB anymore.

    1. “Felix is dead right, the scripts are lousy, acting is poor, production is shit and to top it all they are now promoting Indians ! wtf ??”

Felix never said such thing. He’s just angry with TVB neglecting his series.

    2. Opps, seems like Felix Wong did say TVB’s production and script is decline in 2005.

I can agree that script might be declining. But, acting is ok. There are good and bad actors. As for production quality, I don’t find it decline. They have better props, costume and better CGI. I the production quality is better now.

  42. Production is in decline. Watching BTROC which is big budget but the entire settings feels like a studio.

    1. That was the year TVB cut budget on shooting. The forest & river, who are they trying to kid. It is in the studio.

  43. Funn, since you mentioned the park, ya! that was used as the imperial palace garden. And the thing is the editing crew has to block off telephone, street light poles, high rise building & etcs. Oh! bloopers…. apperently there are quite a few. LOL.

On the side note, CBML setting was eqaually BAD.

    1. I remember seeing tar and glasses? Anyway I can’t blame them for you know location problems but for all the extravagance on the hair and costumes, I wish they paid more attention to surroundings AND the script.

Please don’t mention CBML to me. In fact some may say all the budget on locations went to No Regrets. But No Regrets also have locations problems. Seems unreal.
