Grasshopper to Hold Concert in Foshan Annually

Hong Kong Cantopop band Grasshopper (草蜢) held its “Be Three Concert” on July 18 at the Foshan Lingnan Pearl Gymnasium in Foshan, China. The trio composed of Calvin Choy (蔡一智), Remus Choy (蔡一傑), and Edmond So (蘇志威) proved to be highly popular as all seats at the venue were filled. A crowd of fans excited to see their idols stood up to cheer and dance before the concert even started.

It was a spectacular sight that evening as the audience pulled out their cellphones and waved them in the air to create a sea of bright lights. The trio started off the concert by performing the songs “I Want to Dance” <我要跳舞>, “Dia O” <嗲噢>, and “Three Minutes of Indulgence” <三分鐘放縱>. The atmosphere was extremely lively as professional dancers joined in. Engaged in the performance, some fans even stormed to the first row to wave their light-sticks and sing along.

Since it was also Grasshopper’s 30-year formation anniversary, everyone later stood up and sang the Happy Birthday song as celebration. The trio was extremely touched by the audience and made a promise that they would hold a concert in Foshan every year to showcase their love. They screamed loudly to the crowd, “I love you guys!” Remus also happily added, “The most important thing is that you’re all happy! Then we’re happy too!”

The trio’s excitement had not faded during their backstage interview after the concert. Remus exclaimed, “It didn’t even take three songs to warm up the audience tonight. Some fans danced from the beginning till the end. They were so warm and high!”
