Happy House, Hidden Dragon Costume Fitting

Bobby Au Yeung, Myolie Wu, Linda Chung, Evergreen Mak and Sire Ma attended the costume fitting for Happy House, Hidden Dragon <樂府藏龍> yesterday. Former Forensic Heroes star, Bobby Au Yeung, noted that he was unable to act in Forensic Heroes 3<法證先鋒III> since he was filming in China when he received the notice. Bobby laughed that he was filming in China for interest and returned to TVB due to gratitude! However, Bobby maintained that he cannot always repay debts at TVB, otherwise he would be very tired!

Myolie Wu and Linda Chung portray dancers in Hidden House, Happy Dragon. Initially friends, Myolie and Linda later become enemies. Finally, they resolve their animosity and become friends again. To prepare for their roles, Myolie and Linda were practicing their dancing. Due to the lack of a dancing background, this will present as a new challenge for Myolie and Linda. The pair indicated that temporary actors were needed for large-scale scenes. They were unconcerned that the minimum wage disagreement would halt the filming progress and believed that the situation should be resolved shortly.

Recent tabloid rumors claimed that Ron Ng was pursuing Kate Tsui and Sire Ma at the same time, while Ron used Sire’s money. Sire complained, “They’re fabricating the news! We are just colleagues. The rumors are unfair, especially towards Ron!” (Did you give money to men?) “It’s not me!” (Did your family persuade you to leave the entertainment industry?) “We spoke about it. However, I’m in the industry because of my interest.”

Happy House, Hidden Dragon is produced by Cheung Kin Man. Additional cast members include: Yoyo Chen, Angela Tong, Oscar Leung, William Chak, Grace Wong, Cheung Kwok Keung, Jess Shum, JJ Jia, Steven Wong, Kwok Fung, Ha Ping, Ching Ho Wai, Chan Man Na, Leung Kin Ping, and Leung Ching Ka.

Jayne: The costume and hairpieces remind me of Can’t Buy Me Love. I wonder if it has been finalized that Moses Chan’s role will be replaced by Pierre Ngo or could it be Evergreen Mak?

  1. I believe it is Evergreen Mak who replaced Pierre Ngo’s/Bowie Lam’s/Moses Chan’s role, lol. Anyways, I’m quite interested in this show. I tend to like most of the productions that Bobby has been in (except for the upcoming Men with No Shadows…)

    1. And I find William Chak much better looking in costume than in regular clothes. Or maybe it’s just that the pictures I’ve seen him in were of flattering angles, lol.

      1. I agree, I find william quite more attractive in his costume outfit, perhaps it’s his hair?

    2. What’s wrong with Men with No Shadows? I really want to see that series, but in that series he doesn’t have “control” of everything, like he usually does in series. But still he characters should be funny and kinda clueless. But MOre to this series, I think it will be good, eventhough I don’t really know what it’s about. Hopefully it won’t envolve the palace, and more on normal people, during that time.

      1. Is that the series with Fann Wong(actress from Singapore)?? That title sounds familiar… What is the Chinese title for Men with No Shadows?

I wonder if this show will be a whole new story or a remake of some legend?? I hope that it is a new story so that I don’t have to watch remakes of legends and stories over and over again…

    3. I’m really interested in this show too. The cast especially the ladies are amazing.

I don’t get why you don’t like Men with No Shadows. I think it looks interesting and different from TVB’s normal productionns

      1. I’m excited to see Linda and Myolie in a series together.

I hope Pierre Ngo isn’t in this drama, or if he is not a big role please xD I don’t like his acting that much… I find it so exaggerated and cocky sometimes.

      2. @star, I don’t like Pierre Ngo and hope he isnot finalised to be part of the cast. I’m shallow when it comes to onscreen stars. Pierre is not a good looking actor and to me he will always be a supporting actor. Plus after watching Rippling Blossoms, I hated his acting. As you said, too exaggerated.

      3. @star, cinsin, I agree. Pierre was really annoying to watch in Rippling Blossom and he is too short and isn’t too good-looking. His face appears too squarish.

    4. I have a really shallow reason for not looking forward to Men with No Shadows. XD Hopefully by the time MWNS comes out I will be proven wrong.

  2. Unless they are shrinking the screen time and significance of Moses’ character, but Pierre or Evergreen to replace him? That’s odd since they’ve always been supporting actors.

Why is Sire’s hair and costumes more beautiful than Myolie and Linda’s? Will this be a comedy too? I’m really glad Bobby replaced Moses; I prefer his style of humor more.

    1. Bobby doesn’t replace Moses, he is confirmed from beginning as the male lead with Moses. Evergreen Mak replaced Moses.

    2. I think Bobby has always been helmed to film Yuefu. Originally, Bobby, Sheren Tang, Moses, and Myolie were the leads. However, Sheren dropped out, following Moses. Linda replaced Sheren’s role (I heard they changed her role because Sheren was suppose to play a prostitute, but apparently Linda’s playing a dancer now?) and then they asked Pierre Ngo (and simultaneously asked Bowie Lam as well) to replace Moses. If Pierre accepted then they’re going to change the script dramatically because they don’t think Pierre can carry such a big drama yet. In the end, I guess that didn’t work out so now Evergreen Mak replaced him.

      1. I can’t believe that they have to change the story sooo much just because of Moses dropping out. I wonder if that was one of the reasons why the producer was so mad? I hope the story will still be good.

Totally agree with you about why they always have to have the main leads pair up?? Can’t they do something different and more original?? I guess they want to stay on the safe side and want to please the audience or something…

We all know why Moses dropped out, but why did Sharen drop out of this show? It would have been great to see her since I miss seeing her in an ancient series…

      2. @HTS, I don’t understand either. Why can’t they just replace Moses with another actor who is capable of carrying out that role. Although it might be tailored for Moses specifically, but I’m sure there are other more talented comedy actors out there. After one episode of YSSS, I’m not too impressed by his humor. If the original script was better, they should just keep it instead of changing it around to suit a particular actor. Good actors would be able to carry out the role regardless.

Sharon Chan is in this show too? Or Sheren Tang?

      3. @Chriselle,
Totally agree with you. I wish that they can just pick another actor to play the role and keep everything else the same. I am not sure if changing the script and a number of other things is going to be a good or a bad thing?? Maybe the script was not that good originally so now they are changing it to make it better?? THat can be a good thing…

      4. @HTS, That’s a possibility, but we’ll never know.

    3. The producer did mention that they’re changed the storyline and make it into a triangle between Bobby, Myolie and Linda because of Moses.

      1. I find it sad that TVB ALWAYS have to pair up their main leads with each other. It’s so predictable and unoriginal.

      2. There’s a hidden blessing of Moses pulling out. It might be another Moses-Linda pairing again but now this turns into a new collaboration between Myolie, Linda and Bobby.

  3. @Jayne – I’ve been waiting for you to post this 🙂

Myolie looks pretty in her costume. I’m sure she will use the experience and training from HunanTV Strictly Come Dancing into this series. She did very well in her dance in that program. I’m looking forward for her pairing with Bobby and her friendship with Linda.

I believe Evergreen Mak replaced Moses. Pierre Ngo is great but he’s not yet a leading actor.

William Chak is very handsome no wonder TVB is promoting him more now among the other Miss HK.

  4. Among 6 female actresses of this one (Linda, Myolie, Sire, JJ, Yoyo Chan, Jess Shum and Grace), I think JJ’s outfit looks the best. She looks so nice in dark pink. Yoyo is the prettiest but her outfit is not outstanding. Can say tat Yoyo dun have this “star” shine. I like Yoyo but she is that.

Grace’s Mickey hairdo is hopeless. Sire’s yellow outfit makes herself pale and blend to the background.

    So JJ is the best.

    1. agree. Yoyo is quite pretty… in a girl next door kinda way. But she just doesn’t have that star presence. Maybe it’s the way she holds herself.

  5. Ooh I love Linda’s costume, so pretty in pink! Myolie’s make-up is just too heavy and not a fan of the hairdo.

Excited to see if Myolie and Linda’s dancing is up to scratch and very happy that Bobby is in another series with a good female cast.

Sire Ma looks very cheerful in her yellow costume 😀 I think TVB is really trying to promote her more lately. Her Cantonese has also improved immensely! I barely hear her accent anymore.

    1. I KNOW!!! I though I was the only one who though that Sire’s accent has changed, I mean she speaks like she is from Hong Kong…That was a really good improvement though. But I know this is kinda a stupid question, but where is she from originially?

      1. You guys are right. Myolie’s make-up is more intense than Linda’s. Is it safe to assume that the amount of make-up Myolie is wearing has to do with her character’s personality? Her costume and lipstick is darker than Linda’s, who might be playing a more lighthearted, nice, and easygoing person. Also, Myolie’s costume has some red while Linda’s is pink.

Since both Linda and Myolie have that red mark on their forehead does that mean they’ll be concubines?

    2. Agree that Myolie’s make up is just too much and her hair… Oh goodness… It looks like it will fall off of her head since it is so high. I wonder if it feels heavy on her head?? Linda’s costume is really nice and reminds me of the ones that she wore as a princess in Can’t Buy Me Love.

    3. For some reason, Myolie always have such heavy make-up in ancient dramas. Same with the other series she was filming with Jessica not that long ago (forgot the name)… she looked like a doll.

      1. Yea, she had a lot of make up on. I wonder why they have to put so much make up on her for?? It looked almost like those opera type of make up…

      2. I guess it’s TVB’s new Gong trend? Look at BTROC, CBML and Queen of Phoenixes (the series with Myolie and Jessica), all used heavy make-up.

      3. But it seems like recently Tavia and Myolie use quite a lot of make-up whether it be ancient or modern series. The only one that seems to be more natural even with make-up on is Linda. I really liked her look on YSSS even though she looked really plain.

      4. @cinsin

I agree Myolie and Tavia wear quite heavy makeup nowadays. They wear thicker than Linda and Fala

  6. I am not very familiar with Sire Ma. Is that her in yellow? Maybe it’s just me, but she seems to look old.

    1. Yes, that is Sire Ma and that is a very bad picture of her. She doesn’t look old on TV.

    2. She’s like in her early twnenties…Not that old at all…

      1. Really?? She looks really mature for her age then(not just in this picture but in others too).

    3. She does look old in the picture. She look like early thirties not in early twenties

      1. Does she play a more mature character in the show? Maybe it’s make-up that makes her look a little bit older than what she is.

      2. @cinsin It’s just really bad makeup. Sire plays a really dependent character who relies a lot on her older sister, played by Yoyo.

      3. Yoyo is babyfaced she might look younger than Sire rofl

    4. It’s just a bad picture. Bad camera angles, shadings and picture quality can make you look like an old lady/man, but in reality you might look much better and younger. Never trust most of HK media’s camera. Sometimes they tend to post a star’s worst-pic-ever for reason I don’t know why(HK is a place that love degrade their artiste!) Sire looks fine onscreen although her skin might not be the best.

  7. Were these the same costumes that were used in Can’t Buy Me love?? They sure look similar…

    1. Wouldn’t be surprised if they recycled the costumes to save on budget lol

But the design is probably similar due to the time setting?

      1. Of course they would recycle costumes whenever they can. I thought that some of them were custom made since the producer said that Moses’ costumes were custom made for this series. Maybe some are recycled and some aren’t??

Did Bobby replace Moses?? It great to see either of them and I just hope that this series will have a good plot. Nice to see the rest of the cast as well.

      2. No, Bobby dun replace Moses. The plot is edited to make Bobby the only lead.

  8. Was this the Can’t Buy Me Love 2 that TVB says they were going to film? I haven’t heard anything about the plot yet, but the costumes and the happiness of Bobby, Linda, and Myolie reminds me of CBML and that it will be a comedy.

    1. I hope that the plot and everything will be different or else it will seem like a re-run of CBML.
