Isabella Leong Prepares for Comeback

The 29-year-old mother-of-three Isabella Leong (梁洛施) has signed with Angelababy’s manager Kim Chou, and will be coming back in full force.

Isabella met businessman Richard Li (李澤楷), who is 20 years her senior, on a movie set. After giving birth to their first son Ethan in 2009, Isabella slowly retired from an onscreen career and left Hong Kong for San Francisco with her family. In 2010, Isabella gave birth to twin sons. Her relationship with Richard ended amicably in 2011. The ex-couple share custody of their children.

Despite the split, Isabella stayed in the United States to raise her three sons. She starred in the 2013 Taiwanese film Murmur of the Hearts <念念> as a favor for Sylvia Chang (張艾嘉), but rarely made public appearances. Her other comeback projects included the stage play Signs of Happiness <快樂勿語> with Jim Chim (詹瑞文) in 2014, and a guest appearance in 2015’s 12 Golden Ducks <12金鴨>.

On June 15, Angelababy’s manager Kim Chou announced on social media that she will be working with Isabella. Sharing new headshots of Isabella on Weibo, Kim wrote, “Working together again after many years. [I’m] looking forward to a new beginning. Let’s work hard together!”

In a later interview, Kim clarified that she and Isabella will be collaborating as a team, and not as artiste and manager. Kim shared that Isabella has plans to make an appearance in an upcoming film.
