Li Xiaolu Studio Files Defamation Lawsuit

Today, Chinese actress Li Xiaolu (李小璐) announced through her personal studio that she has filed a libel lawsuit, suing the perpetrators responsible for spreading fake news, slanderous words, and invasive photos surrounding her cheating scandal with Chinese rapper, PG One.

Last December, Li Xiaolu and PG One were photographed spending an entire night together, leading to speculations of an extramarital affair. Li Xiaolu’s husband, Jia Nailiang (贾乃亮), responded with a plea for privacy, which indirectly confirmed that the affair was true. Li Xiaolu and Jia Nailiang have one 5-year-old daughter, Jelena.

The scandal sparked outrage on social media, and after a quiet month of silence, Li Xiaolu Studio’s official Weibo was updated with a legal statement on February 1. The statement said Li Xiaolu’s privacy has been invaded multiple times by the media, and she was attacked and humiliated by multiple users on social media. It began to affect her personal life and family, including her 5-year-old daughter. She has already filed a libel lawsuit against certain Weibo users for spreading fake news and offensive content about her.

The Beijing Xingquan Law Firm has taken her case, and the lawsuit was filed on February 1.

  1. There is now a trend of successful defamation law suits from artistes. Interesting to watch the outcome. May take a year to know the results.
