Raymond Lam: ‘Joe Ma Did Not Kiss Butt’

Last week was TVB executive, Virginia Lok’s birthday. Although one of Virginia’s favorite artists, Raymond Lam Fung arrived empty-handed at the party.

In contrast, Joe Ma Tak Chung brought his karaoke machine from home to the party scene. Afterwards, tabloid reports have noted that Raymond’s bootlicking skills were not as seasoned as Joe’s in currying Ms. Lok’s favor.

Raymond defended his good “brother,” Joe by saying “That’s crazy! If it were not for Joe, then we would not have been able to sing karaoke.”

Did Raymond “lose out” to Joe at Ms. Lok’s birthday party? “Don’t say that! Joe recently bought a new karaoke machine. Previously, he invited me to his house to sing karaoke. He said he even learned how to sing my songs. Since Ms. Lok’s party venue did not have karaoke, Joe offered to bring his own machine that night.

Several tabloids also noted that Joe Ma remained by Ms. Lok’s side while taking photographs. “That’s crazy! I know Joe very well; we are good ‘brothers.’ At Ms. Lok’s birthday party, Joe put in his money and effort for the celebration.” (How will Raymond defend Joe?) “He really is not as you describe! We gathered together for the photos; it was most important that Ms. Lok stood in the center and we have a happy group photo.” Although Raymond has not given a birthday gift to Ms. Lok yet, he already had an idea of what to buy.

In a recent radio interview, Raymond was asked to choose the ideal elder-sister, younger sister and wife among three candidates: Kay Tse On Kei, Tavia Yeung Yi and Linda Chung Ka Yan. Raymond was afraid of choosing Linda as his wife because her personality warranted protection, although she was a nice girl.

Jayne: The rumors between Raymond and Linda seem to be over-played; he is linked to Linda in almost every interview.
