New TVB medical drama, White Strongman <白色強人>, held its costume fitting today. The drama stars Roger Kwok (郭晉安), Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), Ali Lee (李佳芯), Mathew Ho (何廣沛), Kelly Cheung (張曦雯), Crystal Fung (馮盈盈), and Jess Shum (沈卓盈). Since several of the cast members are afraid of blood, they admitted that they will need to overcome their fears to portray their doctor roles convincingly.

With many surgery scenes in the drama, Roger has been watching medical videos online to prepare for his role. At first, Roger was highly disturbed by the explicit details, but he grew more comfortable as he watched more surgery videos.

Acting as Ali’s mentor in the series, Roger has several moving scenes with her. Roger said, “At first, I was very happy to be paired with Ali, but it turns out she is in a love triangle with Kenneth and Natalie.”

Kenneth and Natalie portray a divorced couple. Since the frequent co-stars are also good friends in real life, they felt very comfortable to be working together again. Asked if his girlfriend Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) would feel jealous, Kenneth said, “No, she knows what I’m filming and whom I’m working with. There’s no problem.”

Admitting that she is a big fan of Healing Hands <妙手仁心>, Natalie is very excited to be portraying a doctor in White Strongman. However, she has a very strong fear of blood. “One time, I fainted after I saw blood dripping from myself. I hope this won’t happen when I’m filming, but there will be a doctor on site to save me.” Kenneth helpfully volunteered that he has learned CPR, but never had the chance to use it.

Ali also has a fear of blood, but forced herself to watch violent movies to overcome her fear. “I was very scared of blood in the past, so I never thought of becoming a doctor. I’ll watch more surgery videos to observe the right mannerisms.”

I’m sure Roger Kwok would give a layered performance and be convincing as a doctor. It is rumored that Roger replaced Moses, who is filming in China. And Kenneth replaced Ruco Chan, who I really want to see in a medical drama!

What happened to Ruco? After winning TVB best actor award in 2016, he seemed to be dropped and ignored totally. Except for Succession War which was filmed in the beginning of 2017, he has been jobless the whole of 2017 and still no news of any filming
project for 2018. Latest rumour was an unconfirmed project at the end of this year.

@loveruco He’s busy eating pork chop to want to commit to a gruelling filming schedule just yet. In the meantime he’s looking to earning some easy money by making appearances at commercial events. Waiting for someone here (ahem….cough…cough…) to pounce on him at the slightest mention of his name.

@passingby @loveruco I guess no matter how much fame and money he have, he will still crave for more and more. A greedy person like him will never be satisfied despite having everything. These pathetic, money grubbing fame seeker is probably going to spend the rest of his life chasing after fame and fortune.

@passingby.. I like how you have put it..eating pork chops indeed! Just be careful Ruco! As it is, you are nowhere to be seen. Your supposed role in this drama has been replaced by Kenneth and you are going into oblivion with no shows lined up so far and only making guest appearances here and there. Too much pork chop is bad for you or are you resigned to the fact that you have been passed over and is riding into the sunset. You are just not heard of or seen or cast in any roles anymore. Stop eating pork chops! Too early to go into oblivion!
