Ruby Lin Denies Reconciling With Stanley Tong On Set of “The Patriot Yue Fei”

Ruby Lin’s (林心如) popularity in mainland China continued to climb. In 2010, Ruby sought to have greater control over her career by forming her own production company, Ruby Lin Studios. She produced the recent drama, The Glamorous Imperial Concubine < 倾世皇妃>, in which she starred with Wallace Huo (霍建華). Ruby was currently filming the highly anticipated, The Patriot Yue Fei <精忠岳飞>, in China and her personal wealth was rumored to have surpassed $100 million Yuan! At the same time, rumors surfaced that Ruby may have reconciled with ex-flame, Stanley Tong (唐季礼).

From 2002 to 2008, Ruby was romantically rumored with Stanley Tong. The pair reunited professionally to film The Patriot Yue Fei, a 60-episode historical drama about the downfall of General Yue Fei in the Song Dynasty.  Stanley served as the producer of the drama, while Ruby portrayed the wife of General Yue Fei, played by Huang Xiao Ming  (黄晓明). Since Ruby’s collaboration with Stanley Tong on The Patriot Yue Fei, rumors spread that they had reconciled their relationship.

In addition, Ruby will be appearing as a bridesmaid at her good friend, Annie Wu’s wedding (吴辰君) in June 2012. Stanley Tong will appear as the Best Man, fueling additional rumors that Ruby and Stanley had reconciled. Filming for an ad yesterday, Ruby denied the rumors, “Currently, we have the relationship of a producer and actress only!”

Indicating that she was single, Ruby stated that she will be very careful in deciding who to date. She treated friendship very carefully as well and was selective in who she regarded as a true friend. “I will not reveal my true heart at first. It will take at least half a year for me to become good friends with someone.”

Ruby was quite shocked by the recent divorce rumors surrounding Taiwanese actress, Chen Mei Feng (陈美凤), who allegedly has been secretly married with her boyfriend, David, for 9 years. If the couple were to divorce, David sought to receive a separation fee of $200 million Taiwan dollars!

Jayne: Ruby Lin is very smart to focus her career on mainland China, where it has paid off very well. More artists are now producing their own dramas, including Michelle Ye.

  1. I don’t think Ruby is smart at all since she is doing what many actors and actresses are doing. Hu Ge is producing some of his own along with Michelle Ye and many others. She is just going with the flow…

I did not know that Annie Wu was going to get married soon. Congrats to her and does anyone know who she is marrying??

    1. Lol, following others and amassing millions of yuan is not smart then what is? At the end she has control over her own destiny in what to produce, what to star in and earning like that. Most people rather sit around and do nothing…maybe that is smart to some people.

    2. Uh…Ruby can be considered quite successful in what she is doing. She is not “just going with the flow.” She started producing her own dramas a few years now. I don’t know about Hu Ge, but Michelle Ye started recently. So, I would say Ruby is pretty smart.

    3. I disagree. Ruby is a better producer than an actress. She chose quite aptly the actors and actresses in her series and apparently she earned back her investment in 1 week. She is a shrewd businesswoman.

    4. i think ruby is very smart, her first tv series that she produced aired in hunan tv, i think that’s an excellent achievement for first time producer.

    5. Ruby seems to start the flow more than following it :P. She started to produce her own series quite long ago.

  2. It’s obvious she’s a smart business woman. Her success can account for this.

It doesn’t take a lot of intelligence to see this. Ahem

  3. Though I prefer Wallace Huo with Ruby, I have to admit I had always liked the idea of Stanley Tong and Ruby as a couple. With Ruby’s success now, it would be hard for her to find a man who can keep up with her in money, fame and class.

  4. So out of curiosity, is Ruby Lin more popular than Charmaine Sheh in the TV world? Does she get as much $$ as Charmaine per episode?

    1. Ruby has been known in China. Charmaine just started expanding to China. Quite a big difference here.

  5. She’s so pretty. Missed watching her dramas. I wish I have more time…..
