Rumored Couple, Rainie Yang and Prince, Vacation in Hawaii
Two days after Valentine’s Day, Taiwanese singer Rainie Yang (楊丞琳 ) and Prince from the Taiwanese boy band, JPM, were spotted at Honolulu Airport, fueling the rumors that they were indeed dating.
Even though JPM mentioned in an earlier interview that the trio will embark on a holiday together in the United States, what reporters saw was not the case. Instead, JPM’s Lil Jay and Prince’s younger brother, Modi, were seen heading for Houston with Blackie Chen (陳建州) to catch the NBA basketball celebrities tournament while Prince and Rainie were taking a flight out to Hawaii.
Older Woman, Younger Man Relationship
Speculations started that the two singers were dating after Prince revealed in an interview that Rainie is his ideal girl and hinted that the song, “365 Days” <365天>, was written for a secret lover in the entertainment industry. Andy brushed the rumor away, saying that it was Sony Music’s intention for the boy band to focus on love songs.
Late last year, Prince was seen taking a taxi to Rainie’s house in the middle of the night, leaving after 9 hours. This incident led the reporters to believe that 29-year-old Rainie is indeed dating the 24-year-old Prince, following Rainie’s earlier statement that she would not date anyone who is 5 years younger than her.
Both Managers Denied
When approached by the media, both managers denied that Prince and Rainie were having an intimate holiday together in Hawaii. Andy Chang (張世明), JPM’s manager explained that though good friends, Rainie and Prince were heading to Hawaii, they were not alone but with another 4 friends. Andy added that if the two friends become lovers, he would not disapprove of their relationship, which dispels the rumor that the members of JPM were not allowed to date.
Rainie’s manager, Chiang Cheng Jin (蔣承縉) said, “Now that the youngsters finally have a break, it’s normal for them to gather together to travel abroad.”

If they’re dating, good for them. Age is not a matter. As long as both are still “single” in the sense of not involved in any special relationship with opposite gender.

Rainie looks so young. Couldn’t even tell there is a 6 year age gap between Rainie and Prince.

They are actually only 5 years apart since Rainie is born in 1984 and Prince is born in 1989. Prince said that he is fine with the JieDi relationship as long as they are born in the same decade. Rainie also said that being 5 years her junior is the most that she will take. IF a guy is younger than 5 years then she will not consider… In this case,they are 5 years apart so it is ok.
I agree with Veejay that IF they are dating, good for them and Prince always liked and idolized Rainie so in a sense he is now dating(if they are dating) his “idol” which does not happen often at all.
