Zhang Ziyi Looks Exhausted In First Public Appearance After Birth

41-year-old Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) dedicated her first public appearance to a Shanghai fashion event after giving birth to her second child, a son, back in January 2020. Wearing a dark blue and off-black dress, Zhang Ziyi has lost all her post-pregnancy weight and is back to fantastic shape.

Ziyi’s personal studio has also acknowledged Ziyi’s weight loss, writing, “Her weight is back to 49 kg!”

However, a few unedited photos of Ziyi attending the event has gone viral online, showing Ziyi with more fine lines and wrinkles on her face. Netizens noted that Ziyi looks a lot older, but also praised Ziyi for looking great after giving birth to two kids.

Ziyi married singer Wang Feng (汪峰) in 2015. They welcomed their first daughter in December 2015. Their son was born in January 2020. Ziyi is also a stepmother to Wang Feng’s two older daughters, age 15 and 8.

  1. those unedited photos look like they are shots from a horror film. i don’t think they are real….

  2. Geez give the woman a break. I’m 1+ years postpartum and my eye purses have never been darker or more exhausted some days lol.

  3. She looks older than 41 lmao. Haggard and looks bald. Michelle Yeoh is 58 and she aged finer than Ziyi.

    1. @xystus
But she has had 2 kids while Michelle has not had any. Having kids stresses you a lot. Michelle did not have to deal with the stress of having kids.

    2. @xystus actresses can never get a break. Age naturally and expect snarky remarks, while accusations about botox injections would be flying if she looked younger.

      1. @msxie0714

That is so true. I still prefer that people age gracefully than botox. Most new moms will lose a lot of hair after birth also and that hair didn’t help her. People should give her a break. It just shows that she has “mom’s mileage” that’s all. We women should support ourselves and allow us to appreciate our natural beauty confidently.

        @hetieshou

That is a very good point there. Being a mom can really age a person.

      2. @dramas4me another thing is she has kids late which makes her aged faster. I’m the same age as her but had kids in my mid 20s and I guess I still look better than her considering she wears make up and I don’t take care of my skin, don’t wear make up. If you see me in person, you won’t believe that I already have 2 teenagers

      3. @joyce
It depends on the person too as some of my aunts that had kids early did not age well while some of my other aunts that had kids late aged better. I feel genetics is a big part of it too.

        @hetieshou

I think aging factors are ranging from a person’s age, stress level, personality, gene, lifestyle, sleep/rest time, attitude about life & financial situation. Some people are born to worry and some people are carefree and never worry about anything. That’s why some people never age and others age like a speed train.

      5. @dramas4me
Very true! Aging is a combination of those things. I had an aunt that had 6 kids but aged well as she did pretty much nothing. Her mom( my great aunt) and cousin did all of the work of taking care of her kids while she sat back and relaxed. Her husband supported her so she did not even work. Basically she hardly worried or dud anything. Yup, some age like a speed train while others never age as they are more carefree.

  4. Ironic she gave birth to anchor babies…meaning her kids were born in the US so they obviously have a us citizenship ugh.

    1. @exodus
Yep. It’s just wrong for these people to do that when we, the tax payers, have to pay so much taxes. I live, work and pay taxes in that country by the way. It’s a shame on them. I defended on her the aging part, but not this one for sure.

      1. @dramas4me birth tourism should absolutely be cracked down on. These people want the best of both worlds and because they have $$, they can. It’s such an insult to those who work so hard to immigrate and who embrace the country’s values.

      2. @dramas4me

Very well said and the richer people are the cheaper and greedier they get which is sad. But of course not everyone is like that. However, a number of people are indeed like that.

      3. @bubbles23 Amen to that! And the only reason I posted that particular comment is because this is the latest news on Zhang 😛 Heck both her kids were born in the states, so only goes to show you know she did that on purpose….

      4. @exodus
Yup and not just her but Liu Tao and many others did it too. They are pathetic and the excuse they used was that it was because they wanted a second child due to the one child policy in China. Go figure!

      5. @dramas4me

Exactly and very well said! I hate it when people do that. They are literally freeloading off of real US citizens. My family and I work and pay taxes just for them to benefit. They have no shame.

      1. @hetieshou I don’t think the government allows it. It’s that they do it under the radar the people that have the kids here. Also hospitals can’t reject them and they also get money from them too. But I do know California has cracked down on it like a year or two back. I guess this is one good thing with covid is that it’s keeping those people back in their home countries so that they can’t do that… I think…but rich people obviously they feel they can do anything.

      2. @exodus
Oh yes that’s true but I think the government truly needs to crack down on them. I did not hear about California cracking down on it as Zhang Ziyi just had her son here in California earlier this year. But I hope they do as they should not be allowed to do that. They are basically freeloading which I hate.

You are so right that that is one good thing about Covid since it keeps these people home instead so they cannot do it for now until the law prohibits it. Sadly they think that they can do anything as long as they have money.

By the way, missed you and glad you are back. I have not seen you for a long time.

  5. Goodness, these photos will follow her for a long time…. I do feel for her. Being a star is not easy but it is part of their job to keep a appearance in such events… No wonder she get criticism.
As a mother myself, I cannot keep up with such demands.

    1. @hohliu
Hollywood and European actresses are not stigmatized when they take totally untouched photos, but in Asia?? They may as well commit suicide for exposing imperfections
