Actress Zoie Tam (譚凱琪) announced she is tying the knot soon with her wealthy boyfriend of eight years, Enrico Chong (莊日宇), who works in the financial industry. She said “yes” when he greatly moved her during his proposal abroad. Today, Zoie revealed they already applied for marriage registration.
On Instagram, the 38-year-old shared a photo of her wearing a white dress while happily holding Enrico’s hand. She captioned the photo, “We will not be changed by the wind or rain. I will hold your hand forever. Eight years flew by, and we are about to embark on another stage in our lives. I look forward to our promise.”
However, the couple is holding off on setting a wedding date due to the current situation in Hong Kong. Zoie also stressed she is not pregnant, and she has no interest in becoming a housewife. She will continue to be an actress after marriage.
Zoie debuted as a singer in 2000 and developed her career in Taiwan before joining Hong Kong Cable Television in 2007. There, she focused on hosting travel specials and food and beverage programs.
After jumping ship to TVB in 2013, she took on various drama roles including Annie in My Unfair Lady <不懂撒嬌的女人>, Yip Tin Gui in The Learning Curve of a Warlord <大帥哥>, and Carmen in Barrack O’Karma <金宵大廈>. To say that she wowed the audience with her acting skills would be an understatement.
In a previous interview with TOPick, she said work is her priority, and she will let nature take its course when it comes to marriage. However, she had nothing but praises for Enrico at the time. “He is more capable than I am; that is, he can answer any of my questions. We can grow and work hard together,” she expressed then.
