Kristal Tin and Chapman To’s Love Survived Third Party Threat
Of the many couples in the entertainment industry, Kristal Tin (田蕊妮) and Chapman To (杜汶澤) have stayed strong despite the temptations of glamour and glitz. In an interview by her good friend, Eunice Chan (陳嘉容) , Kristal shares a glimpse of her happy and fulfilling marriage with Chapman.
Kristal Admits There Was Another Woman
“Yes, there was a third party! We were still dating at the time, and one night, he received a text message. My gut instinct made me pick up the phone to read it, and that’s when the trouble started! I was really hurt and shocked by it all and I said many things to hurt him. I even threatened to break up,” admits Kristal.
Kristal continued, “I was in a state of shock and confusion at that time, so no matter how Chapman tried to explain, I wasn’t processing it. I kept yelling at him and saying hurtful words to him because he broke my heart. When I finally calmed down, I rationalized that as artists, we come across many different types of people, and some who have ill-intentions. It’s really up to the individuals whether or not we can resist temptation. I had a talk with Chapman, and told him that the choice is his, but he would have to understand the consequences of his actions.”
When asked for advice on how to avoid a third party involvement, Kristal said, “I don’t really have a solution and I’m not an expert. I suggest being rational and level-headed before making any decisions. It’s mens’ nature to like big-breasted women and have sexual desires, but it’s also up to them whether or not to make that move. Chapman and I give each other space and try not to keep each other tied down, because that might result in him going out to release himself. That makes both of us unhappy. I can’t guarantee that Chapman and I will be together forever, but currently we are very happy.”
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Chapman was battling a rare nerve disease. Kristal was by his side the entire time, proving their love goes beyond the surface.
“When Chapman told me about his diagnosis, I couldn’t believe it. I was in China filming at that time and he was completely healthy when I left! I had many nights of imsomnia because I kept thinking unhappy thoughts. But Chapman remained calm and mature in handling his health condition. In fact, he was the one comforting me!”
“Chapman explained that the disease will cause him to have blurry vision, kind of like watching a 3D film without the glasses. I immediately wanted to return to Hong Kong to take care of him. Thankfully, my cast and crew were understanding of my situation, so I flew back right away.”
“When I saw him, I immediately held onto him and cried because I was so worried. Thankfully he has recovered now, but it made us treasure our time together even more.”

Judging by Kristal’s angry reaction and threat to breakup, it was highly likely that Chapman did more than exchange some flirtatious text messages.
Men will always be men! Even Chapman fell for temptation while they look like they’ve been having a smooth love all along! I’m surprised that they had this problem
Us women shouldn’t have to tolerate such behaviour, it’s totally being unfaithful when the husbands engage in extramarital affairs. Like the saying goes, once unfaithful, always unfaithful. It totally makes me think of the values held by people in today’s society. Have we really evolved for the better?

When women cheat, people take her actions much more seriously instead of writing it off like, “oh, women will be women.”
I know many women who would cheat if they could ensure that they wouldn’t get caught or pregnant…or well, suffer no consequences like when men cheat. But of course, women face more consequences socially if they are outed…so for many who consider cheating, it’s really not worth it.

It’s one thing to think about it and another thing to act on it. It’s sad to think that most men will go ahead and cheat on their wives/girlfriends. What’s worse now is that a lot of married couples these days (at least in the West) are each seeking FWB relationships. Then what’s the point of staying together in situations like that, why not just get a divorce? What happened to believing in marriage vows?

If a woman with great body wants to show it off by wearing sexy clothes, we should really take notice so that her effort don’t go to waste. Heck, if i see one walking in front of me, i’d walk faster just to see if the face matches the rest of it. 8 out of 10 times, it’s a disappointment. Conclusion is, the truly beautiful ones do not need to resort to this – but those who have the assets, but not the face would resort to sexy dressing to enhance what they have so that others overlook what they don’t have. After all, once you switch off the lights, u can’t see the face, but still be able to touch the boobs & legs 😉 Sounds sexist, but nevertheless true.
No. Looks are more compelling. Not to say that breasts don’t grab one’s attention but they can be a plus depending on they fit in with everything else.

Maybe magazines such as Maxim have it right. Looking at the type of women who grace their covers, perhaps such types appeal to the mass American male population.
Cultural roots also play a factor in what we find attractive. In Hong Kong and China, women who have ivory pale skin are considered to be more attractive. And pin-straight, long flowing hair seems to be considered more attractive as well.
My perception is that the image of beauty in Hong Kong and China seem to be more narrowly defined (seeing how celebrities dress and style themselves), while in the USA, the image of beauty comes in a wider range of types, sizes, skin color, etc. A variety of beauty standards appear to be more widely celebrated here.
I agree with you Jayne. In the Asian culture, you have to look a certain way to be classified as a beauty which probably explains why most girls flock to get PS done. In the West, beauty is embraced in all shapes and sizes which I totally applaud. Everyone is unique and shouldn’t be made to look like a product from a cookie cutter.

In an ideal world, I’m the kind of person who would believe in free love and polygamy. You only have one life and you have the right to make your own choices and be happy – as long as all parties involved are mature enough to accept all responsibilities, what’s the problem? Unfortunately, we’re just humans filled with jealousy, possessiveness, lust, temptation, selfishness… It’s just simpler to find one partner who will remain faithful to you.
But I can never tolerate cheating. I want someone who can RESPECT me, my feelings and the time we spent together. At least have the decency to break up before going onto another relationship.
I never understand people who cheat. If it’s getting boring for you then just breakup. If you don’t want to breakup then don’t do anything to hurt your partner. Personally I believe everyone deserves a second chance and I’m truly happy for any couple who can resolve their issues.
