Karena Ng Maintains Posh Life After Splitting from Raymond Lam

While Karena Ng (吳千語) was dating Raymond Lam (林峯), the 25-year-old actress was reportedly very materialistic and loved buying luxury labels. After the pair went separate ways, Karena was able to maintain her lavish lifestyle with the help of her new man, billionaire Brian Shi (施伯雄), whom she has been dating for nearly one year.

Karena is very active on Instagram, in which she has been sharing many photos of her recent vacations and leisurely activities. Her summer adventures included wakeboarding, going out to sea on yachts, and exotic vacations. She was seen wearing luxury labels such as Fendi and Louis Vuitton.

Living it up, Karena’s new home is in Hillsborough Court located at the Mid-levels, which is ironically across the street from ex-flame Raymond Lam’s home.

There was negative backlash from netizens regarding her Karena’s “materialistic” side and how she seems to be leeching money from each boyfriend she dates. Upset by the responses, Karena posted photos in which she wore all her expensive brand names and attached the hash tags, “All these bags were given”; “I rented my apartment myself”; and “Please don’t report fake news”.

When netizens questioned her again, Karena deleted the picture and wrote, “If I don’t respond to news, people complain. When I respond to news, people complain. Life is hard.”

But Karena seems to have gotten used to excess. Recently celebrating her 25th birthday, Karena received over seven birthday cakes.

  1. There are many women who come from poor backgrounds or parents with lower class professions who look to pursue riches and rid memories of their history. Fan BingBing did it. Designer bags mean more to these women than the average because it gives them a sense of pride and identity….

These values were instilled s’times by parents so they’re fufiling those wishes … or driven by a life of deprivation.

That deprivation + compensation is often quite transparent to onlookers, and there’s NO pride in being a gold-digger to rise up.

So they have to prove something, or 洗根 (wash roots).

You can say the same for some wealthy nouveau rich potato-farmer made good, among the China crowd: 洗根 (they cannot even wash a cup they’ve used themselves. More airs and graces, than folks who are used to being rich.

Being ‘precious’ and not being able to wash own cup – despite growing up taking care of brothers and sister. Why? Just in case it reveals their labourer roots) … masking insecure roots they’re so desperately trying to hide. Who are they kidding?

TASTE is also often totally questionable. In fact, with some of the newly arrived fu er dai 2nd generation 富二代 … at the rate they flash and spend meaninglessly, they may just bring China down. Because all the good traits like being hardworking/thrift etc = all eroded away.

Karina’s LV is ostentatiously loud … you won’t catch Asian Old Rich who are way lower profile wearing monograms much, or flaunting labels deliberately. When they wear Designer – it’s low key, low profile but classy.
In fact, some of the old-old rich still hung on to good traits like being thrifty, recycling, driving Hondas and Toyotas even when they have $50 million parked in the bank.

Self earned riches being flashed is acceptable but flashing parents money through luxuries is happening regularly nowadays. Flashing luxuries using parents money may earn the envy of the poor and uneducated but will not earn the respect of the average hard working citizen. Good habits of handling money should be maintained anyway because there is always the risk of the financial crisis.Wealth flaunting will find it more difficult to survive during turbulent times….

HK has their own bunch of vulgar rich – the pioneers of over-the-top ostentaciousness of the now deceased Mr. and Mrs. Kai-bong Chau with matching pink rolls royces and enough flashy decor and bad taste to render ordinary folks speechless.

  2. She ain’t no gold digger…Seems like Raymond Lam may have dodged this bullet. But will he dodge the next? He appears to have a thing for pretty young thangs…

    1. @dramafan
The branded bags were ‘given’ to her. Maybe her past and current boyfriends feels the need to bestow her with these branded gifts in order to please Karena. Not her fault…

    2. @dramafan lol…He likes them young but then can you blame them? haha…..Jay Chou? He needs them super young in order to pop out a soccer team of kids. haha lol

  3. Given to her…Lol… of course how else did you get them? haha… She can be funny!! haha

  4. I think she’s the same age as Grace Chan? I am imagine right now she might be the next Isabella Leong?

    1. @cutie777

Her current ‘wealthier than Raymond Lam’
富二代 fu er dai bf is fairly young.

Nowhere Isabella Leong/Grace Chan relationship age diff.

  5. Women enjoy material possessions and want a stable life. Men provide financial security and enjoy the youth of women. Money…beauty…none of this really matter because women can always find a richer man, and the men can find a younger woman. A relationship that isn’t focused on commitment and love isn’t going to last very long. It will always be a focus on getting the next big thing or on the lookout for something better when it comes along. While celebrities and all people alike look for things like that, what’s important is faithfulness, being able to be with one person forever is enough.

  6. When she talks about being given the bags…did she intend that as to say she’s not a money grubber? Because it certainly doesnt give that message.
