William Feng’s Insecurities about his Marriage with Zanilia Zhao

When Zanilia Zhao (趙麗穎) and William Feng (馮紹峰) suddenly announced that they were married in October 2018, many began speculating that a baby was soon on the way. These speculations were later confirmed when, three months after the wedding announcement, the couple then announced that they were expecting. Zanilia gave birth to a baby boy in March 2019.

In a blink of an eye, Zanilia and William have already been married for one year. Because the couple has been busy preparing for the birth of their son and with completing committed projects, they didn’t have time to plan and prepare for a proper wedding celebration.

To many, it may seem that the couple got married prematurely due to the unexpected pregnancy. Rumors swirled that their marriage was on the rocks.

Recently, on an episode of Chinese variety show, Adventure Life 2 <奇遇人生2>, William discussed and shared snippets of his married life with Zanilia. He shared that Zanilia is a very logical and clear-headed person. Because of this aspect of her personality, William went through a phase where he questioned whether Zanilia married him out of love, or because she was simply at the right age for marriage. William candidly shared, “Sometimes, I would ask her… did you really like me and want to marry me? Or did you just like the feeling of dating and got married with me for the sake of getting married?”

During the interview, the host noticed that William did not wear a wedding ring. When confronted about this, William dejectedly expressed, “I still don’t have a wedding ring yet, because my wife has not given me one.”

  1. didn’t they say wedding rings were not in fact a tradition. it was b/c people wanted to make $$ out of the wedding business. so following traditional customs, there’s really not a need for wedding ring. a wedding ring doesn’t mean much other than you spend a large amount of $$ on an accessory that you don’t need.
