Hong Kong Celebrities Urge Others to Stay Home

Artistes amplify the #IStayHomeFor message with their influence.

Following widespread lockdowns in many countries, overseas Hong Kongers returning from abroad have led to a surge in the territory’s confirmed coronavirus cases. Along with new quarantine measures announced, medical workers also started partaking in the #IStayHome social challenge with the message “I Stay At Work for You. You Stay Home for Us,” while celebrities too jumped on the bandwagon to urge the public to avoid heading out.

Rarely appearing in public recently, Leo Ku (古巨基), who just became a dad, posted a photo of himself with a stubble and echoed the #IStayHome message. Hoping the coronavirus pandemic would end soon, he encouraged everyone to stay home as much as possible to prevent community spread and avoid burdening the medical system.

A good friend of Leo, Vivian Chow (周慧敏) followed suit and expressed her gratefulness to frontline medical workers, adding “Protecting oneself and safeguarding others is a responsibility; we need to be united to overcome the pandemic!”

Joey Yung (容祖兒), who recently completed a two-week self-quarantine following her return from the European leg of her world tour, chimed in and posted an encouraging message, “We must persist! Do not slacken! Stay united! Let’s fight on everyone!”

Nancy Wu (胡定欣) who was tagged by Leo, also responded by pointing out the near threefold rise in the confirmed local cases within the past two weeks, encouraging folks to connect with their friends through video call instead, and hang in there so everyone could go back to their pre-pandemic lives as soon as possible.

Uploading a photo of herself chilling in pink lounge wear with her two cats, Natalie Tong (唐詩詠) summed up, “For those you love, stay home as much as possible starting from this weekend.”

Priscilia Wong (黃翠如) took a similarly light-hearted approach, shared a picture of herself on the couch armed with different brands of instant noodles, captioning “It’s a date this weekend, let’s stay at home together, for our loved ones and those who love us. #donotworry #Ihaveenoughinstantnoodles #INominateAllOfYou”.

    1. @m0m0 she’s fresh from cheek fillers and is also using stupid hazy filter on the phone on the max level so it flattens out any blemish making her look plastic. Shes 52 and never wants to get older. Same hairstyle for the last 30 years.

  1. It says mom to be for Priscilla? So she’s expecting? I thought it was just a rumor when that time they say she’s expecting or did I missed something? Hopefully those signs will help many people to realize that they needed to staying at home.
