GOT7 Postpones Hong Kong Concert

The K-pop boy group GOT7, who was scheduled to hold their two-day concert at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld Arena as part of their Keep Spinning World Tour from August 31st to September 1st, has announced its postponement.

This announcement came after a series of sit-in demonstrations held at the Hong Kong International Airport, which resulted in the cancellation of many flights and the airport’s closure for two afternoons.

JYP Entertainment, the group’s agency, said in a statement that it is concerned about safety and traffic due to Hong Kong’s current political climate. The concert will be rescheduled for another date.

Earlier, GOT7’s Hong Kong member Jackson Wang (王嘉爾) demonstrated his patriotism for China at a GOT7 concert in South America, sparking controversial responses from media and fans.

In related news, K-pop idol Kang Daniel also postponed his Hong Kong appearance. He was originally scheduled to hold his fanmeeting in AsiaWorld Expo’s Hall 10 on August 17th.
