Jackson Wang in Discussion to Sign With Korean Talent Agency

Popular Korean boy band GOT7 ended their 7-year contract with JYP Entertainment on January 17. Although the band’s seven members have expressed interest in continuing working together as a group, each member is currently being scouted by different agencies.

In closing the chapter of the band’s musical journey, GOT7 posted a handwritten letter for their fanclub I GOT7 on social media. They wrote, “We know that there is nothing we can say to mend the wound and uneasiness felt by I GOT7. However, we want to say this to I GOT7: We will continue to write songs for I GOT7 and share it with you. We will continue to spend it together.”

Chinese member Jackson Wang (王嘉爾) is one of the group’s most popular members, and often splits his time between promoting in South Korea and China. While Jackson’s work in China will be managed by his own company Team Wang, he is currently under discussion to sign with South Korea’s Sublime Artiste Agency.

This is exciting news for many fans as Sublime confirmed to have already signed an exclusive contract with GOT7’s Choi Young Jae, and fans are hopeful that the agency can work on a collaboration with Jackson and Young Jae. Sublime has experience in artist management, album production, and advertisement–the agency manages many of the country’s top stars including Rain and Song Kang Ho.
