Myolie Wu Signs with Stephen Shiu, Jr. for $25 Million HKD?
With Myolie Wu‘s (胡杏兒) contract ending in July, reports claim that she will leave TVB after 16 years. Recently, Myolie was said to have signed a three-year contract with Stephen Shiu Jr.’s (蕭定一) company for a whopping $25 million HKD.
Using her second runner-up win in Miss Hong Kong 1999 as a stepping-stone for her acting career, Myolie was quickly recognized as one of the fastest rising stars at the time. After more than a decade as one of TVB’s most popular artistes, Myolie won TV Queen with her performance in Curse of the Royal Harem <萬凰之王>.
In recent years, Myolie’s stardom increased in Mainland China. Her recent Mainland variety show, Wonderful Friends <奇妙的朋友>, was well-received and brought many new job opportunities in China.
Many entertainment companies such as Huayi Brothers, Now TV, and Richard Li’s (李澤楷) ATN Talent have attempted to sign Myolie. However, after a year of contemplation, Myolie allegedly picked Stephen Shiu, Jr.’s China 3D Digital Entertainment .
Stephen reportedly offered Myolie $25 Million HKD for a three-year contract, in which $12.5 Million HKD will be paid in advance. Stephen also promised to produce movies especially tailored for Myolie, as well as negotiate high-quality Mainland drama offers.
Earning roughly 250,000 RMB per episode for her new Mainland series Adoption <領養>, Myolie is already spending more time in China despite her outstanding TVB contract. In response to her signing rumors with Stephen Shiu, Jr., Myolie said, “What? My contract hasn’t ended yet! I won’t respond to anything during this time period!”

I haven’t notice Myolie in any TVB serie for a good while now … it is quite predictable she not returning it’s a pity since TVB is already lacking so much actor/actress.
@vodka She has filmed 3 series but TVB decided to keep it in the store. Maybe it was because of her leave. Yes, a long while without Myolie in TVB while TVB still has some same faces again and again and again since beginning of 2015. I notice there are some appeared 2 to 3 times in a short term of 5 months.
Sooner or later, I wont be able to recognize anyone in TVB.

Now only Left with Roger,Moses,Rico,Kenneth,Raymond Wong,Kate,Nancy,Sharon,Tavia,Linda,Elena… Currently only looking forward to Nancy,Elena,Tavia,Kenneth,Raymond and Roger. Seems like i would not recognise any artist 1 and a half year later anymore…

@alien,actors/actresses come and go but the point is there are not enough good successors nowadays.especially young actors who possess charisma as well as handsomeness and good acting is hard to find,guys like andy lau or tony leung are almost extincted.todays young actors doesnt possess a “star aura”.
