Myolie Wu Announces Third Pregnancy

Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) has many reasons to celebrate before the year is over. Earlier this month, the 41-year-old actress made news after winning Best Performer of the Year in Chinese variety show Everybody Stand By <演員請就位>. With just a few days left in 2020, Myolie made a big announcement by sharing that she is pregnant with her third child.

Marrying entrepreneur Philip Lee (李乘德) in 2015, Myolie has two boys, 3-year-old Brendan and 1-year-old Ryan. She has always wanted three children, and her wish came true this year.

“I came from a family with two elder sisters. At a young age, I benefited from a household with two siblings, and I always thought that having three children is a beautiful and fortunate thing. For Christmas 2020, my wish came true.”

Already pregnant while filming Everybody Stand By, Myolie did not disclose her pregnancy to the filming crew as she did not want any special privileges. “I wanted to compete in fairness, and I was happy with the results. Besides, I have my two sons for support.”

Fortunately, her pregnancy did not affect her work and her baby bump was not obvious while she was on screen. Her third pregnancy has not been too difficult, and she is able to continue working. Myolie added, “I am grateful that the baby behaves well. I have been doing my check-ups in China. It is safe and everything went well. However, there is a pandemic and I have to be extra careful.”

In August, Myolie brought her younger son Ryan to Shanghai to accommodate her filming schedule. For Christmas, the family reunited in Hong Kong. Myolie hopes that she can wrap up her remaining work commitments and start the next chapter of her life as a family of five.

  1. Ah maybe that explains her winning. She was already preggo and emotional lol, therefore easier to act out cry scenes.
