Jayne: Congratulations to The Mysteries of Love. The success of this series may even spawn a sequel (gasp) or even series filmed in a similar style. Personally, I think the success of The Mysteries of Love is due to the well-written love story between Raymond and Tavia. The Prince Charming portrayal of Raymond’s character is every woman’s dream.

  1. I would beg to differ and say that Kenneth actually stole the show in this series. I have always been a Raymond fan and I adore him still but I have to admit that in this series, Kenneth did the better job. I watched the entire thing rooting for him and bernice. Raymond’s character is too weak in this series and he was also overly polite and had a somewhat boring personality which makes sense since hes professor king and all he does is stay in the lab all day.

  2. Congrats to PSL getting decent ratings despited being pitted against World Cup.

As for MOL, I guess there will be more FungYi pairing in the future now.

  3. I have to agree with carrie. I found myself looking more forward to the relationship development between Kenneth and Bernice over Raymond and Tavia. I felt there was a lack of chemistry between to two… it just didn’t feel like they were that in love with each other. But nevertheless, I am a fan of Raymond, Tavia and Kenneth so I’ve enjoyed the series.

  4. I might be the only one who think Kenneth character is the same as his DIE character. I don’t really fancy Kenneth as the flirting playboy not even when he didn’t button his shirt. Ray would’ve done a better job as the player. Bernice is just done and over with TVB.

Kenneth is still a likeable guy anyway but as Jayne said Ray steals the series and melt ladies with his Prince Charming potrayal.

Tavia was brilliant and lovely as the female cop.

  5. I agree that Raymond’s character was definitely lacking. I felt little chemistry between him and tavia… Raymond has almost no personality, he was boring, too polite, and no emotions whereas Tavia was so bright and shiny.

  6. I actually think that the scriptwriter did not eloborate enough on Tavia and Raymond’s relationship, but due to their excellent chemistry, they were able to attract viewers. I really do hope for a sequel but in a different genre. Unlike you guys, didn’t really care about Bernice and Kenneth’s relationship, although I do think Kenneth did a great job in MOL. Can’t wait to see more FungYi in the future, they don’t have enough series together:)

  7. Unless there is a sequel, Raymond may be paired with other actresses to boost their popularity. It worked like charm with Linda Chung.

Raymond is truly a rarely seen phenomenon; his popularity seems to span across all ages. I think the last TVB actor who drove young and older woman wild was Loius Koo?

And Tavia is so popular these days. She pairs very well with her co-stars. Wonder how she will be opposite Bobby Au Yeung, who’s wonderful in drawing in his co-stars.

Unless there is a sequel for The Mysteries of Love, it may be some time until the next Fungyi pair-up.

Every girl of any ages have the longing feeling for a Love Prince inside them. Raymond’s Prince Charming image and Sentimental Love Songs is a perfect fit for the longing in most female’s heart. He’s the “prince” of a ladies dream. I think it was Louis Koo too and if I’m not mistaken the HK media did dub Raymond as the next Louis Koo with his recent venture into movies.

  9. I personally like this show eventhough Kingsley role is too gentleman. There is further elaboration on the relationship between Tavia and Raymond. Personally I think he is better pair of with Linda. They are still the best couple on screen. What about off screen????

  10. I see more of Tavia liking Raymond than Raymond liking Tavia…
And to be honest, this film doesn’t leave off any points for a sequel. In DIE you have the baby being born, Forensic Heroes was more focused on the cases, but this one doesn’t really have anything to create a sequel from unless a character suddenly dies for no apparent reason.

  11. Jenny-Raymond mentioned time after time to the reporters, especially lately that the rumors with Linda is old and it’s getting boring, thus with this comment, I don’t believe there is anything going on with them.
Hikari – if the scriptwriters want to create a sequel, I am sure they would think of something, but I prefer to not have a sequel of MOL. I would like the same cast and pairing but different storyline.

  12. Fungyi fans better not hope for a sequel. Sequels always involved one of the major character dying or moving to overseas. You don’t want that. 😛

  13. Kidd, since its shown from netizens and audiences that “we only watch this series for Fungyi!!! <3", if there's someone who need to move overseas or die I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be one of Fungyi 😛

  14. It might be. Since the series can’t do without Raymond, so it may be Tavia having a promotion, being moved overseas to undergo training with Scotland Yard. Could happen. And introduce another girl as rival with Tavia coming back to reclaim her man. Could be!

  15. No, with the way Raymond was toward Tavia, it should be the other way around. Bring Raymond W. as another character to be the rival for Raymond for Tavia’s heart 😉

  16. Knowing TVB…Its best not to have a sequel. The ending right now, is probably the best.

  17. Lol i totally agree with you ” The Prince Charming portrayal of Raymond’s character is every woman’s dream.” the ending is kinda lame lol

  18. Exactly! Prince Charming it is. However, I would mind seeing Raymond and Tavia pair up again in other series.

  19. if film the sequel must be Fungyi as couple…all ppl like to see this couple very natural act…if with other actress i think a lot of ppl will not see..

  20. Sequel often ended in disaster rating so hopefully no sequel for MOL or Fungyi pairing in MOL. Much prefer Fungyi pairing in another series though but with more elaboration on their relationship as I find in MOL, not enough scenes showing their love toward each other. To me, it felt like Tavia loves Fung more than he loves her. I like Fung’s character in Golden Faith and A taste of Love more. Tavia’s character in both Building Blocks of Love and in MOL is good. New series with Fungyi character similar to these past series would be good.

  21. Ray’s character in Survivors Law is very good! Perfectly charming!!

  22. “it felt like Tavia loves Fung more than he loves her.”

Initailly it seems so but the ending speaks otherwise or atleast on level term if not more..

  23. Actually I like the storyline of the love relationship between Kingsley and SLM, a very deep mind vs emotion dominance but a bit disappointed with SLM’s ending.

Kingsley was able to wake up and bring himself from his head to his heart but SLM was far too emotional (one can’t blame others if she decides to take her own life except for the reason that she lost control of her own emotions) and did not seem to rationalise why he had to break it off at that time even though she accepted his proposal.

And anyway, the speech she gave to wake him up in the hospital, I wouldn’t have budged. It would have great if he waited until she said something like, “You promised to take me to the Sahara Desert”, then only move his eyes. Silly boy!

Even better if he left a note to her in case he lost the game with Raymond Wong and dies (I would so that one can leave without regrets)and the letter somehow ended up with her without him knowing (like his mom discovers it and passed it to her) just before she hears his speech. Content of letter up to our imagination.. She was just too cold at the end..didn’t even showed up at the hospital until Lo Sir called her.

  24. you know wat in the ending raymond didnt kneel down like that..i wonder wat happened..the ending really disappointe me..i dont mind a sequel as long as its fungy..i really enjoyed them except like i totally agree with some of u..raymond character in here was ummm as u said..but for some reason i still love n enjoy the series a lot i guess its becuz of fungyi..bernice n kenneth acting was good in here also.
