Wang Yibo’s “Poodle-like” Hairdo Goes Viral

Rising to stardom alongside Xiao Zhan (肖戰) after co-starring in the hit historical drama The Untamed <陳情令>, actor Wang Yibo (王一博) hasn’t joined any new drama productions for over a year!

Scales Daring Climbs for Show’s Season 2 in Nevada

Devoting time to his personal interests, Yibo has been selecting work projects that aligns with his hobbies – such as season two of the outdoor extreme reality show Exploring the Unknown <探索新境>, currently being filmed in the U.S, which lets him indulge in thrilling adventures across land and sea. Season 2 of the show has scaled up significantly with the team recently traveling to Red Rock Canyon, Nevada to film intense rock climbing scenes. 

Recently, the actor updated fans via Instagram and assured them of his well-being, with one of his photos – a close-up selfie – stealing the limelight and going viral. In the photo, he sported tousled, curly hair resembling instant noodles, with netizens commenting that the hairstyle made him look as “adorable and irresistible” as a fluffy poodle”. The quirky look rocketed him to the top of search trends, and some also commented that he resembled a Native American, with his deeply tanned complexion!

A Year-Long Hiatus from Dramas

Over the past two to three years, Wang Yibo has deliberately slowed down his work pace. Aside from his well-received spy drama War of Faith <追風者>, he has mostly focused on film, with Hidden Blade <無名>, Born to Fly <長空之王>, and One and Only <熱烈> all achieving box office success, and earning him prestigious Golden Rooster and Huabiao nominations for Best Actor.

Despite the momentum, he did not rush into more acting projects and has gone for a year without a new drama after wrapping Mermaid <人魚>, instead making public appearances at fashion events and award ceremonies, dropping new songs and commercial endorsements, and throwing himself into adrenaline-filled supercar racing.
