Wu Chun’s Fitness Zone Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Saving General Yang <忠烈楊家將> star, Wu Chun (吳尊) is back in his birth country, Brunei, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his fitness center, Fitness Zone (also known as FZ). Busy with the opening of a new wing in conjunction with the anniversary, Wu Chun was so stressed he could not sleep for 3 nights.

Wu Chun had wanted to do something meaningful and different in Brunei. Believing that fitness can give one strong willpower and broadens one’s knowledge, Wu Chun wanted the Bruneians to think of their fitness as a part of their lives. When he opened his first fitness center at The Mall in Gadong in 2003, his goal was not to earn money, but to bring a gym with international standards, well-trained staff and state-of-the-art equipment into Brunei.

Passion-Driven

When Wu Chun forked 25 million TWD for his business venture, he met with a lot of negativity from family and friends who felt that he spent too much money on his dream which would not be shared by the Bruneians. However, his passion and research on the Bruneian market materialized into a fitness center that the locals embraced and liked. In 2007, Wu Chun opened his second branch.

So passionate was Wu Chun with his dream that he had been involved with every aspect of the architecture of FZ, including the interior design as well as the choice of equipment. Wu Chun was also involved in planning for the new wing added to the gym, which will include a newly installed boxing ring and studio for group exercise classes.

Contribution

As he spoke before a crowd commemorating the 10th anniversary of FZ, Wu Chun was full of pride when he announced that FZ indeed played a significant impact in the fitness industry in Brunei. He is glad that Bruneians now have a different concept of fitness and health. He looks forward to another fitter decade for his countrymen.

Brunei’s Ministry of Health also attended the event, donning FZ’s 10th anniversary special edition t-shirt and cap, to show his support for Wu Chun’s efforts. In his speech, the minister thanked Wu Chun for his contributions to the health and fitness of the Bruneians over the last 10 years.

  1. ‘Bruno wanted the Bruneians to think of their fitness as a part of their lives..’

Bruno? Is that a typo? or Wu chun’s other name?

  2. “Wu Chun founded a fitness center to make sure his fellow countrymen would lead a fitter lifestyle”

Really? He opened a gym. It’s a business. Or did he not charge membership fees like regular for-profit gyms. C’mon, call it what it is instead of this glorified BS.

    1. What I thought too! Maybe there is an inner Bruneian in Linda and a Canadian in Wu Chun?

    2. I always thought I was the only one who thought that..lol

    3. I guess the only way to confirm this “hypothesis” is to have Wu Zun in drag and put him side by side with Linda Chung.

  3. I always thought wu chun and claire yiu looked a lot alike.
