Louisa Mak and Kenny Wong Star in Jonathan Chik’s New Drama

Despite being one of the more popular Miss Hong Kong winners in recent years and heavily promoted by TVB, Louisa Mak (麥明詩) decided to take a step back from her entertainment career in 2019. Known for possessing both beauty and brains, Louisa received her lawyer’s license and became a business consultant until ATV invited Louisa to make a comeback drama this year.

Since the 29-year-old still has an outstanding contract with TVB, ATV executive Frankie Lam (林文龍) specifically requested for TVB to allow Louisa to join the cast. As the new project will be produced by ATV’s sister company Asia Momentum Media (AMM) and released online, it will not directly compete with TVB’s free-to-air channel, so the latter agreed.

The new web drama will be produced by Jonathan Chik (戚其義), who was responsible for classic dramas War and Beauty <金枝欲孽> and When Heaven Burns <天與地>.

Filming for the new web drama commenced in April and it also stars Kenny Wong (黃德斌) and Bryant Mak (麥子樂), who both fall for Louisa’s character. As Louisa is still working as a business consultant, she can only film for the drama on the weekends and her vacation days. Since it has been a year since she has acted in a drama, Louisa mentioned she had to go to the gym and get more frequent facials to look her best in front of the camera.
