Mat Yeung’s Upcoming Wedding in August

Wedding bells are finally set for 45-year-old Mat Yeung (楊明) and 39 year-old Lisa Chung (莊思明), the daughter of a Malaysian Dato, after undergoing trials and tribulations! The pair’s wedding is scheduled to be held at the JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur on August 2.

Due to their disparate family backgrounds, Mat faced criticism about his incompatibility with Lisa in the early days of their relationship; his reputation took a further setback due to his legal troubles in recent years, causing his career to take a turn for the worse. Yet despite all this, Lisa continued to stand by her man and even put word out that she will “not marry anyone else”.  Recently spotted on the streets of Guangzhou, it turns out the newly weds-to-be took time out to film and produce an MV in preparation for their big day.

Re-enacting the Proposal on Guangzhou’s Streets

From photos and videos circulating online, Mat looked in great spirits dressed in a casual suit while Lisa showed off her slim build in a see-through black lace top. Seen gazing at each other with loving expressions, the pair also shot romantic scenes of bumping into each other on the streets of Guangzhou and looking mutually attracted. The filming team also re-enacted the scene of the proposal – Mat flashing out the diamond ring while on his knees, with Lisa caught by surprise, after which the pair shared a sweet embrace. The video would be shared during their wedding day in August, while the two celebrities generously accepted photo requests from passers-by, earning praise from netizens for their friendliness.

Career-wise, Mat has been appearing regularly onscreen as the likeable character “Tong-Yuen” in popular sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold <愛·回家之開心速遞>, which is officially ending its run. However, the actor has not been resting on his laurels but has been actively proving his naysayers wrong. Showing his seriousness about marriage and starting a family, he has kickstarted plans to start an F&B business in Kuala Lumpur and invested in a Hong Kong-style roast meat business, specially hiring a professional chef from Hong Kong to take care of the menu which will focus on honey char siew and pepper roast duck to suit the taste of the local Chinese Malaysians.
