Gillian Chung Shares Photo of 2-Inch Forehead Wound

While temporarily staying in a hotel in Xiamen, China for convenience of filming, Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) sustained a head injury in her hotel bathroom. Getting up in the middle of the night to begin preparing for filming, Gillian fell and hit her head on the marble floor, sustaining an injury just above her eyebrow bone which was nearly 6 centimeters (approximately 2.4 inches) long. Days after receiving stitches, Gillian quickly returned to work as she did not want to delay filming or cause inconveniences for the crew, showing her professionalism.

Nearly two weeks after the accident, Gillian posted a photo of her healing injury, which showed stitches still in place. Accompanying the photo, Gillian wrote, “After more than 10 days, the ‘partner’ on my forehead is finally embarking on its road to recovery. When I first fell, I was in a state of complete confusion. Rest assured, it’s all right now.”

Gillian went on to thank all her friends and work partners for helping her throughout the scary incident. “I am thankful for everyone’s care and love during this time. Firstly, I am thankful for Mani Fok (霍汶希) and Joey Yung (容祖兒) for immediately rushing to visit me. I also want to thank the hospital staff and every nurse who helped and took care of me while I was in the hospital. I want to thank Simon Yam (任達華), Kara Hui (惠英紅), Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍), and Raymond Lam (林峯). It is because of your help that my wound is healing so quickly! I also want to thank the film’s work crew. It is your consideration and careful companionship that made me feel warm and blessed.”

Although the injury resulted in a large wound that required a hospital stay and a long road to recovery, Gillian nonetheless chose to see the positive, regarding her wound as a “sweet burden,” which allowed her to see how many people love and care about her. She continued, “I want to again thank all those who love me. Thank you to all my fans. I also want to take this chance to apologize for worrying everyone. I will take good care of myself. At the same time, I am also heaving a sigh of relieve and am thankful for the invention of concealers!”

  1. Wow. I find it ironic that she divorced a dermatologist/esthetic doctor. Even after the scar heals, it will still be noticeable without makeup.

  2. That is a huge scar for anyone to have, not to mention her face is her value as a celeb… Agree it is ironic that her ex is a derm. Hopefully nowadays with laser n whatnot the scar can be removed and she heals ok

Yes and honestly laser cannot remove scars completely. It is very painful even with anesthesia as you can still feel it. I know that from firsthand experience.. ouch…
