Hubert Wu Doesn’t Want Kiss Scenes with Moon Lau

Hubert Wu (胡鴻鈞) refuses to film intimate scenes with Moon Lau (劉佩玥) in their new drama, Wife Interrupted <救妻同學會>. Both had questioned the director if it is necessary to film passionate kiss scenes. As it is a youth drama, so holding hands and making loving eye contact should suffice.

Wife Interrupted revolves around a young married couple getting themselves embroiled into a series of dangerous situations after offending both the mafia gang and police forces. Gangsters try to murder them; the wife gets kidnapped, and the husband devises a plan to save his wife. Hubert and Moon plays the married couple, and this drama marks as Hubert’s first main drama role. They had previously collaborated in Blue Veins <殭> and The Exorcist’s Meter <降魔的>.

On October 12, the crew held a shoot at Ping Shek playground. Hubert said that he is glad Moon’s character is kidnapped, so they don’t have to film intimate scenes. He laughed, “I actually went up to the director and requested him to not include kissing scenes.”

This will perhaps be disappointing for fans who shipped them as a couple in The Exorcist’s Meter, but  they are also good friends, so it’s best not to create any awkward situations. In addition, Hubert is in a “stable relationship” with Alfred Hui  (許廷鏗) for eight years, and Moon is allegedly dating Adrian Chau (周志文) .

Busy juggling filming with preparations for his concert at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on December 9, Hubert said it’s stressful, but he will practice his singing whenever he drives or showers.

  1. I see a lot of Asian dramas nowadays trying to incorporate more passionate kiss scenes, which is most likely due to the influences of Hollywood. I think what sets Asian dramas apart from the western movies/shows is the value of love, and not needing to sexualize everything. This is just getting worse! Kiss scenes are not necessary and adds no purpose to the story line.

  2. There are kisses, passionate kisses and romantic to die for passionate kisses. If you wanna be a great romance drama you gotta have many romantic moments and one searingly passionate romantic kiss. Just one. But at least just one. if not it is just a kiddie drama. TVB is in need of a romantic drama to remember.

    1. @funnlim exactly…. a romantic theme w/o a single kiss? haha lol…So is it because he’s gay he can’t kiss women? How professional!!! LOL

  3. I don’t find with a kissing scene is a problem it’s not like having a bed scene or being nude. Lots couples are dating or married they still have kissing scene or bed scene with other actors. Hubert hairstyle looks like a little kid.
