Kevin Cheng and Myolie Wu at “Ghetto Justice 2” Costume Fitting

Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), Sam Chan (李璨琛), Cheung Kwok Keung (張國強), and other artists appeared at the costume fitting for TVB series, Ghetto Justice 2 <怒火街頭II> yesterday. Since Kevin’s salary was rumored to be $160,000 Yuan per episode in mainland China, he was the object of teasing when he appeared at the costume fitting. Myolie teased Kevin that he has to treat everyone for snacks during filming! Cheung Kwok Keung also envied Kevin’s high salary and noted that if he were able to make ten percent of Kevin’s income, he would be extremely satisfied. Kevin smiled, “Actually, I am worth more than that price!”

Asked whether Ricky Wong (王維基), Chairman of City Telecom, had attempted to recruit him, Kevin responded, “He did not personally seek me out. Since my TVB management contract will not be expiring anytime soon, I will not discuss joining another firm. I have already stated that as long as Virginia Lok (樂易玲) is at TVB, I will not appear at another television station in Hong Kong aside from filming mainland dramas. I support TVB! My position is very clear!”

Did Myolie Wu envy Kevin’s salary and request TVB to increase her wages? Myolie smiled, “My salary is not low either! I heard that the salaries of many production staff were increased. My salary is okay.” (Since Myolie spoke from the heart rather than discuss money matters, did she also talk about the subject of awards with TVB?) “Getting awards is dependent upon the results. I have confidence of course.”

Jayne: It’s great to see Myolie and Kevin start filming “Ghetto Justice 2”! Myolie looks great in her skinny jeans, but her hair is a bit distracting. Hopefully she finds a new hairstyle before filming starts?

  1. I knew it. No niki in sight! It was a PR ploy all along.

Why does myolie keep crossing her legs like that? Urgency?

    1. lol josie, i thought the same about myolie crossing legs like that.. due to urgency hehe.

    1. I like the jacket design too. Cute. I can imagine the jacket will look cute either at work or leisure.

  2. Why did mainland producer(s) increase Kevin’s salary?

    Thanks.

  3. I also wish Myolie will get a new haircut.

From hair to outfit, she looks less put together this time although it’s a nice blazer. Why so casual? Or is this just temporary?

    1. Yes, me too. At least Myolie (in my opinion) is respecting the audience enough to not using 1 hairdo for 6 series.

    2. This might be temporary because Myolie is still filming her series with Johnson Lee. She might change her hairstyle later.

  4. Where is Eddie Kwan? The 4 upholder of justice cannot be missing one.

      1. I think he has another work too and clashed with this series.

  5. Where is Eddie Kwan? The 4 upholder of justice cannot be missing one.

  6. Why cast Christine Kuo, I hope her Cantonese better.

Too bad Joyce cant film this series just to film a sucky sitcom.

20 episodes ordered, to bad it wasnt increase to 30 that I was expected.

    1. Yes I feel sorry for Joyce. She can’t film this promising series and instead has to film a sitcom.

  8. Hail to Ghetto Justice 2! The series has been a much expected one and I hope it will be just as good or even better than GH 1. I rather prefer Myolie’s hairdo in GH 1 but am quite open to new styles unless they are really weird ones. As for Kevin, I am glad to see him make that firm stand about staying with TVB as long as Miss V. Lok is there, etc. In such a competitive world these days loyaly is a virtue that is indeed difficult to come by.

  9. I read another news about the series. The producer is different this time. I hope the quality of the first one is retained.

According to the news, George (Jazz Lam) has been promoted to become a judge. Christine Kuo’s character will have a love triangle with Law Ba and Kris. I hate this development. What I like about the relationships in part 1 is each guy has their own lover interest and their own romance. No messy love triangle. I hope Christine’s love is just one sided and Law Ba remain true to Kris. I hate love triangle that sullies the love relationship in part 1.

    1. The same report also said Kevin revealed that TVB take 50% of the earnings of all the income he earned outside.

In this report, he said he supported TVB, but, in the report I read, he revealed a lot of negative aspect of TVB management contract. Besides the 50% commission, TVB also have first priority claim to the artists. This is because TVB need to produce 500+ hours of episodes per year. So, they need lots of artists. For a managed artist, if TVB need him/her to film for TVB, the artist will need to forgo the Mainland opportunity. If the artist reject lots of TVB series, when the time comes for him/her to fulfill his/her series number, there might not be good roles or good series left. Under the current contract, the best TVB managed artist can do if he/she want to film Mainland series is to take leave. So, many opt for artist contract now instead of managed contract. Kevin hope that TVB could give him more freedom in the future.

      1. Why is Kevin supporting TVB but at the same time dissing his contract with TVB? Or he meant it as sarcasm? I don’t get it.

  10. is niki chow in this?? i go on wikipedia all the time to check up on like the character chart thing..apparently she’s in it but where is she o.O

  11. Without Eddie Kwan is not good….the four are the best in this serie!

      1. His part in part 1 isn’t big doesn’t mean part 2 cannot make his part bigger. It’s precisely because his part isn’t big in part 1, they have more room for development in part 2.

I agree wih Lucia. The four are the best in this series. Even in one promo clip for part 1, they introduce this 4 friends to together as 4 Sham Shui Bo upholders of justice.

      2. A bumbling cop is easily replaced. I think Raymond cho is a good choice to continue the comedy.

  12. As long as the same main actor kevin n his 2 best friend i guess its still sound good to me ,don,t really care who,s the extra cast ,now is all about achieved the better story results and creative idea other than that will be great drama…

  13. I watch the series because of Sam Chan (李璨琛) and Cheung Kwok Keung (張國強). I’ve never found Kevin Cheng and Myolie Wu to have good acting skill. Kevin Cheng appeared on several series (a lot), however, somehow, I found his acting lack of soul.

  14. They have finished filming Ghetto Justice2 and I’m sure many are looking forward to watching it, including me. Myolie’s hairdo suited her so well in GJ1 and I’m quite sure she will not disappoint us this time round. I, too, think she should have a different hairdo from the one in the above photo.
