Kristal Tin Has No Plans for Kids Yet

Hong Kong’s newly-crowned TV Queen, Kristal Tin (田蕊妮), recently attended a promotional event for her new television drama Return of the Silver Tongue <舌劍上的公堂>, which is currently airing in Hong Kong. The 36-year-old Best Actress winner revealed that she and husband Chapman To (田蕊妮) recently moved to a new house, and Chapman, in celebration of Kristal’s TV Queen win, took the burden of preparing for the house warming party and cooking for their guests himself. Chapman also cooked for their families for the winter solstice. Kristal expressed that she wanted to help out, but Chapman did not want Kristal to “mess up” his procedures.

“I will award with him a French kiss later,” Kristal joked.

Various gossip columns are reporting that Kristal is postponing her baby plans in order to repay her debts of gratitude to TVB in the next few years. The reports claimed that Kristal and Chapman are “practicing” safe sex in order to prevent the unwanted pregnancy.

Kristal clarified, “Seriously? But I am not only one in debt to [TVB], but also the audience. They have voted for me. In our new house, we didn’t even prepare a baby room. We’ve had always taken the safety measures into account.” Kristal also added, “I feel that couples who are dating should be extra careful, especially during a time like the Christmas holidays. When you create a new life, you must assume the responsibility. Don’t do it if you’re not ready.”

  1. She and her husband shouldn’t be a age wise far from there kids it would be really awkward like 40 and 46 to a 1 year old.

  2. They should start a family ASAP they are not getting any younger. If they can think that having a new life requires responsibility then I think IMO they will be very responsible when they do have a child.

  3. It’s probably not wise for Kristal to turn down golden opportunities pouring in after winning BA award, especially after just buying a more expensive house.

    1. I agree and in order to have a family, you must have a successful career first or else how will you raise and support that family? Family and career go hand in hand.

  4. I find it more strange she didnt have kids before she actually got famous.

  5. It’s great that she acknowledges what her priorities are. Absolutely that many people would want you have to have kids, but if you can’t dedicate the time and love for them to raise them well, then why have them? So many kids come from broken homes without the love and care of parents, and for Kristal to be candid at how she’s not ready to have them yet, it’s great. The time will come and until then … why not make some more series and roles? Hahaha … can’t wait for her next project! Kristal add oil!

  6. A while back they said they didn’t want kids. It seems they’re changing their minds.

    1. Actually, no, it doesn’t seem like they (Kristal and Chapman) have changed their minds…it seems more like the HK Media is changing their minds for them…either that or the Media is just not in tune with what both Kristal and Chapman have stated in previous interviews (which is that they didn’t want kids and don’t plan on having any). To me, this is just another example of the Media doing their own thing and making up stories again…

  7. I don’t know why everyone feels that it’s “wrong” for her to have kids at least 4 years later. In the grand scheme of things, 4 years is not a lot of time. Besides, many celebrities have kids later than 30 to dedicate time to their career. Either way, they’ll most likely see their kid(s) grow up. Possibly not grand kids, but so what?

I admire Kristil for this! Afterall, she’s just won Best Actess; she has to act in various shows before her time is over. And when that happens, she’ll be fully dedicated to her family.

  8. That is not a wise decision for she isn’t getting any younger. She is 36 and husband is 41…She doesn’t owe anybody anything…winning an award doesn’t mean you change your family planning. And is not a gurantee she will concieve. Good luck

  9. Just adopt. There are enough people in the world already and many unwanted babies.

  10. She better have a baby now. When she reached late 40s, she will become desperate and wish for one earlier. Emotions changed when you aged.

Just have to look at Andy Lau.

  11. When I was 30plus, I felt no urgency to get marry early or even have a child.

I like to enjoy my life leisurely without any kids.

Now that I got a child, I wish I got married and have a child earlier.

I can’t say I really like children last time but the feeling is very different once I got a child.

My wish is to see him grow up, get married and have grandchildren so I can get to play with them.

We don’t live forever. Andy Lau’s chance of getting to see his grandchildren is very much smaller. I am sure he will more or less regret not having children earlier.

    1. Andy Lau to me is just all about him. He dated his wife since forever!!! Just because of his career and fame he hold off having kids until 50!!! 50!!!! Poor wife who have to deal with it. If she said she didn’t mind I don’t believe it. Who wants to have a first child at late 40s. Too selfish of andy Lau. He will regret it when he reach 60 or 70 and cannot run or carry his child anymore.

  12. Someone needs to enlighten me where is the YET in everything that Kristal said? I thought it’s been sufficiently clear that they have no such plans.

  13. Now aren’t we all a bunch of busy bodies? The decision is hers and her husband’s. Who are we to comment and give her advice?
