Raymond Lam Cried, “I Am Willing to Accept Mavis Pan’s Revenge!”
Raymond Lam Fung was originally scheduled to attend the praying ceremony for TVB series, Return to the Three Kingdoms <回到三國>. However, due to [music] recording requirements, Raymond could not appear at the prayer ceremony. Afterwards, while accompanied by his manager, Virginia Lok Yi Ling, Eric Tsang Chi Wai, and Return to the Three Kingdoms’ producer, Lau Ka Ho, Raymond appeared at TVB City.
Regarding claims that Raymond’s sexual video was circulating, he responded, “The incident has progressed to this stage…. I want to state that if I had hurt her [Mavis Pan Shuangshuang] while we were dating and if this were her revenge, I am willing to accept it. She is still young, I hope she can collect herself together.”
Did Raymond consider that his private photos were stolen? His eyes wet with tears, Raymond said, “I did not think of it. If two people truly loved each other, there is no need to reach this point. I am heartbroken.”

Jayne: Raymond believes that Mavis is behind the release of Mavis and Raymond’s bed photos, recent onslaught of his cheating rumors, etc.
From Mavis’ Next Magazine interview last week, she sounded like she was still pining for the lost love. “Revenge” is also such a strong word. If Mavis was truly angry at Raymond and this was some elaborate revenge plan, why does she still wear the Hello Kitty watch that Raymond gave her? Why keep reminders of Raymond close and hurt herself more? To remind herself of the pain, to hurt Raymond and go down the destructive route together?
Love is full of hypocrisy, where a person who loves deeply can hurt their lovers just as deeply. I suspect it’s usually the people who like to keep score, who’s done more in the relationship, etc. to bear these grudges.
He didn’t deny the existance of the tape…so does that mean it’s true?
@luci, I don’t think it’s true. Given that he didn’t deny the tape but he also didn’t respond to it. He probably feels hopeless and don’t know what else to say. I’m pretty sure that he just want this whole ordeal to be blown over.
But if the tape is true, it will definitely ruin his image. I can vouch for that as I’m a fan of his singing and acting. Right now it just makes me feel “yucky” towards him and feeling disappointed too.
I like his singign and acting too, but these news about him won’t affect my liking of his acting and singign unless he suddenly acts horribly and sings off key (but that prob won’t happen). Hopefully he continues to work hard despite the news but if he’s recording sad love songs for his canto album, then these news might help him sing out emotion.

Generally, men are programmed the same way. Majority of men have cheated at least once in their lives, even people around me have hence I dun see it as a big deal since he’s young, rich and famous.
In fact, before the scandal, I found it unbelievable when he kept on claiming how “dry” he was.
@YanYanKong & @Melody, I agree with you guys. I don’t deny his singing and acting abilities one bit since I fell in love with his singing when he sang the sub theme song for the series “Eternal Happiness.” Love that sub theme song a lot!
I just hope that this will get all blown over and that he’s not affected by his work. It’d be sad that everyone puts their focus on his personal life rather than his efforts. People would be overlooking his talents and that’s not fair to him as a professional actor.

Would it have been better if Raymond said that he’s been on dates but no further development rather than saying he’s “dry?”

It would have been better however if he declared that he went on dates,reporters would stalk him continously esp for Ray whose popularity is quite at its peak.
However he always did mention that he see girls which fulfill his requirements but he had no time so I took it that he did date, and last year when Mak Ling Ling (the fortune teller) told Ray if he is dating, he will definitely break up in 2011 to which he replied with a big astonished huh?! So all those signs were sort of a giveaway.
I hope this will blow away soon cos I find him to be quite multi-talented among the batch of those below 35.
I think maybe one of the most negative things that came out from this was that he was lying the whole time about dating Mavis or anyone. I think IF Raymond told the truth in the beginning, then things may not have been as bad as they have become now. Therefore, we must all learn not to believe many things that celebs say when it comes to relationships because most of the time, they are lying. Then the truth comes out… Which is why I always think that it is best for them to tell the truth since things will become a big mess for them when the truth comes out.. Their image, crediability and everything else will be ruined…
@Melody, True. I think no matter what Ray says, he’ll still be stalked by papparazzis. Like you said, his popularity is at its peak compare to those who came in the industry at the same time as he did.
Yes, Mak Ling Ling did say that those who were born under the year of the Ram will have some trouble in their relationships. I even read a magazine about each zodiac signs and it’s pretty legit. These giveaways were warnings but it’s better not be too superstitious about it.
@HTS, I agree with you and Melody. If only artists would be more honest about their relationships, but they chose not to. Papparazzis will always be on their tails about who they date etc. They chose not to reveal it and lie about it is because 1) they want to protect the ones they love and 2) they don’t want their love life to be in the limelight and being overshadowed by their true talent. It’s always a personal choice just as long as they know the consequences of what’s gonna happen and what they have to endure.
I think it’s best to let it out in the open rather than hiding away your happiness. I honestly have to say that happiness cannot be hidden. It’s something you’d want to share and let everyone bless you w/ their blessings. It’s a good thing.

Did Mak Ling Ling really say that those born in the year of the goat/ram will have problems in their love life? I honestly don’t believe that. I am goat/ram(yes I am the same age as Raymond) and never heard that.. I have always heard that it is tigers that have unstable relationships, not goats/rams. It varies from person it person I guess.
I know that artists have reasons to lie about their relationships. As long as they have good reasons and don’t make empty promises in advance, then it should not be that bad. However, I still believe that it is best to tell the truth and be open and honest or else it will come back at them. I also totally agree with you that being in a relationship should be a happy thing so they should share it with everyone. What is the point of hiding it and then when things spill out(like in Raymond’s case)everything becomes a big mess….
I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a tape. If there wasn’t, why wouldn’t he just outright deny it. I’m guessing that he won’t comment on it unless he’s sure it’s coming out. Given the photos that Mavis enjoys taking of herself, I’m sure she wouldn’t be opposed to taping herself nekkid and getting it on.
When he says “this stage,” I think he is referring to Mavis’s actions (being very pro-active in giving interviews and pictures about their relationship).
Raymond just needs to own up to his actions.
1) Break up properly with a girl. If you truly loved or even really liked her, you owe her the respect and dignity she deserved by doing it in person.
2) DO NOT take cutesy pictures with another girl while you are in a relationship with another.
3) STOP trying to make people feel sorry for you. You are just making me dislike you more n more.

I disagree. If you want to break up with someone, better just tell to their face or at least write a fax or something. To just ignore and then announce to the press is cold and therefore sure to attract your GF kicking your porsche or your BF stalking you. A clean break is the best. You can’t assume. And another point is her posts on weibo on Jan 2011. She said like she has just ended a relationship (by saying something like “Everything gone”). As her stories changed everyday, actually can’t guess what is the true story between them. Guess only.

For the breakup, won’t say anymore because my view is different. You dun require the word “I breakup with you” so are you sure that he dun say similar thing to her? @Fox. Thanks for the pictures.. but no, they don’t actually cause any trouble for me as I have no care for Raymond Lam and the pictures that he takes with other girls. But I can see what you mean, pictures are just pictures. As long as there is no flirting, then no harm done.
I would say to Raymond, If you did nothing wrong, then hold your head up high. As long as you didn’t do anything wrong, no need to cry, whine, or sulk. I saw the interview with him and the way he acted was just unattractive… head held down, speaking so softly I can barely hear him, no eye contact with the camera, wiping tears away. If you do have something to say, then say it with esteem.

@SDS The problem is that a lot of his fans – especially the Mainland fans – have a very unrealistic image of him as the perfect gentleman. I don’t know why and when that emerged, because he was well-known to be quite a hardcore party-goer in his early days. For some reason though, TVB thought they should make him Mr Prince Charming and I guess he just had to play up to this image. Even now, it’s still part of this constructed image – the SNAG who got hurt terribly by his vindictive ex.
Raymond’s crying turns me off so much because I see him as a professional. If I make a mistake @ work/school, am I gonna go to my professors/boss and cry. No, I’m gonna do my best to explain and resolve the situation, then I’m gonna go home, lock myself in my room, and then cry my eyes out! The 24 hr paparazzi/no privacy comes with the job. If you wanna make big bucks acting/movies/singing, then you gotta deal with the consequences. Be a professional and deal with the consequences. Save the tears and sad face for your friends/family/self.

What a big mess this whole thing has escalated to… I think that is just how it can become when a marriage or relationship ends. Love can be a double edged sword, you can really love someone one moment and then hate them the next. Intense love can turn into intense hate. The same thing can be applied to friendship as well since your best friends can one day be your worse enemies too… This is so sad but true…
Revenge is a strong word, but if that is what Mavis Pan is aiming at… I think she got it. I think it is the wrong thing to do, but hey we are not her so I we all don’t understand what really happened.

Seems like he’s indirectly apologizing to her in attempt to stop her from releasing more damaging information. I can’t be certain whether or not she had a hand in releasing those photos, but the bitter tone of her interview responses convince me that she isn’t lying about the cheating.

Since Mavis still kept the Hello Kitty watch, it seems like an intentional gesture to remind herself of the hurt.

-Gossip magazines even Next still don’t have the solid evidence yet. To me, Raymond’s pics with Rose are very normal. He used to take that kind of photos with his co-stars like Ah Sa. and “Dog date” is actually funny to me. the mag used some random pictures and put them together as a story. And the so-called videos…without showing Raymond in the video and creates this much news…umm…in my country, the artistes will sue this magazine.
all in all, i believe in karma. any people will get to see the results of what they have done sooner or later. let’s see how Mavis and Raymond’s lives will be.
@Vidi, Next Media got the sleeping photos and kissing photos at the same time. In Mavis’ interview with Next Magazine last week, she already mentioned the existence of a third party. Next likely had photos on Rose last week. With such a juicy story to tell, Next made sure they staged it in” waves” so that they can stretch it into multi-editions spanning weeks to boost their sales.
Mavis has really only spoken extensively with Next and Appledaily runs filler articles. Other publications can only chase Raymond for quotes.
Much of the sensationalism in Raymond and Mavis’ scandal is due to Next and how they shaped the story and magnififed its scandalous angles: secret romance, disapproving parents, woman with provactive past, alleged married rumors, third party, Raymond as womanizer, etc. Love, hatred, betrayal, and many intense emotions etc are feelings felt in the whole scandcrafted. Even Raymond non fans find all this news compelling.
From an editorial standpoint, the release of the info, shaping of reader attitudes, etc. Were all carefully crafted by Next. Last week’s edition had Mavis talking and reflecting on the pressure faced in romance with Raymond, reflecting on sweet moments etc. The piece shaped the readers’ attitude towards Mavis, hey she suffered and maybe not such a bad woman after all. In the piece, she did not blame Raymond. This week’s edition was made more believable in the Rose rumors becausewe already heard how Mavis suffered earlier.
Next is trying to milk all possible angles and emotions wherever possible, just like successful soap opera. They also had Mavis very willingly supply them info, which helped in feeding the
flames.
I don’t think Next hates Raymond, but they are doing this to sell tabloids. Since Raymond had such a good image before, the only shock value is to continue to draw him in negative images: cheater, backdoor player, preying on 18 year olds etc.

I also believe in Karma, but I don’t think it was appropriate to use it in the case of the Japanese Tsunami. With Raymond and Mavis, I think they are both at fault. If one cheated on the other, then one day it will come back at them. Whoever has bad intentions, it will one day come back at them as well… THis applies to everyone. I just hope that they stop talking about Raymond and Mavis soon because I am getting sick of seeing news about it. I think it will last awhile just like the whole case with Gigi Leung, Maggie Siu and Ekin Cheng back then.. I remembered how nasty that was… Time heals all pain so this whole thing will die down with time…

Raymond emotional response and apology is causing people to doubt whether he did in fact cheat. Why are we jumping to such quick conclusions? In last week’s Next Magazine article, Mavis claimed that she found “flirtatious messages” on Raymond’s cell phone. We don’t know if the flirting was from the woman or if Raymond instigated it. Anyhow, Mavis said that it was more of a misunderstanding at the time. However, the “dog play dates” with Rose Chan seem to coincide with Mavis’ story from last week. If anything, Raymond’s relationship with Rose seems more like flirtation than real cheating. If cheating, would he invite the dogs over to make noise and provide for distraction? Common on….
Raymond’s apology can be interpreted in different ways. Perhaps him never asking for clear break-up, placing his career as first priority over their love relationship, his father objecting to Mavis and letting her know it, did not fulfill the promise of getting married in 2 years, never returning her calls since outbreak of scandal etc. etc. were all actions that have hurt Mavis. Perhaps Raymond is apologizing for the above actions? It does not signify that he cheated.
Oh my gosh, will this ever stop? I feel for Raymond but let it be a lesson learned regardless of who wronged who and move-on. They each got what they needed from each other, what will revenge do? Instant gratification but in time, people will forget and move-on. I guess Raymond will steer clear of DDD from now on.
I just want to add that I am still pro Raymond despite the unmanliness in him, but what I can’t understand is if you once love somebody why would you want to hurt them so bad when things end, just cherish the moment and the time spent together, so Mavis honey, move-on!

I am not a big fan of Raymond and am not sure if he cheated or not, but do commend him for not saying anything really negative about Mavis to the press. Anyhow, this incident has gotten out of hand. Everything is just hearsay, so we do not know who to believe and how much of it to believe. But, I think each of them in some ways handled the relationship improperly to lead to where this relationship has gone to today. They are both at fault, so I don’t think anyone of them is considered the victim. Ray did something during the relationship that made Mavis upset, whether it was truly him cheating during the relationship, not handling the pressure from his family or friends well, or not breaking up with her directly and leaving her hanging. He probably not handle something during the relationship properly. And Mavis, on the other hand, did not handle herself appropriately either. It is very possible that she leaked the pics of them together, therefore bringing their whole relationship to light, and the fact that she had to share such private details on their relationship and making it so transparent, it makes her seem like she was only using him to gain popularity. At this point, as Ray had mentioned, if it really was true love between them, they probably would not be at this point now.
I’m now wonder if some of you chase by media 24/7 in more than a month, how will you react? Have any suggestion?

I do believe it’s better if Raymond just go speak with her and work things so he wouldn’t have to see a new surprise (aka shock) at the headlines every week. Personally, I feel that the only way for this to stop is if he go talk with her and end things personally instead of using the media to retaliate with Raymond on the receiving end.
