Shirley Yeung Hosts i-Cable Program

After leaving TVB  in MayShirley Yeung (楊思琦) signed a contract with Hong Kong’s i-Cable and switched her focus to hosting television programs for the cable channel. On September 5, Shirley filmed for the new show, Hundred Thousand Dollar Hong Kong Beauty <十萬蚊港女大翻身>, and stood on a maintenance tower that was nearly 3280 feet high.

Shirley revealed that she had just signed a per-series contract with i-Cable. She plans to invite many celebrities to appear on the show to share their love stories. She will also share her own views on romantic love, but she emphasized that she has not found new love in her life yet. At the moment, the single mother is very focused on taking care of her daughter, 2-year-old Krystal. Shirley’s jobs have increased over the past months and she will try her best to set aside time for her daughter.

It was earlier reported that Shirley left TVB due to the low pay. Asked if i-Cable paid her more, Shirley said, “The remuneration is very good. I’m very satisfied.”

Shirley’s last TVB drama before leaving, All That Is Bitter Is Sweet <大藥坊>, will be airing on September 8. Shirley has been actively promoting the drama through her Weibo blog and will be more than happy to attend promotional activities for the drama with the rest of the cast if TVB invites her.

  1. It’s so great to see that Shirley is doing well at i-Cable and has climbed back after those tough times! She still looks so young and hasn’t changed much at all! I think she looks nicer with long hair than short hair too! 🙂

  2. she looks great! 10+ years after Miss HK and with a daughter too. Envy! ^_^

  3. Hope tvb will give her more opportunities. She can host and act too. I love her bubbly personality.

      1. They’re all fake. Myolie, Linda, Tavia, Kate, Kenneth, Raymond, Bosco…the list goes on. They are all fake because it’s part of the job to be fake.
Shirley may be a bit overly bubbly at times, but you still gotta give it to the girl for her determination and ability to continue to smile after TVB and the general HK public have been such asses to her.

    1. Yeah…I wonder why tvb didn’t promote her…because of her scandal?

      1. That kind of quality TVB can easily find it. Her acting is just so so only just that a bit of pretty and miss HK only ma. Wish her best of luck to find a new bf that able to accept her daughter as well.

      2. @raymond: actually, wish her the best of luck in finding a partner who is worthy of her and her daughter’s attention.
There is nothing to ‘accept’. Having a daughter, married or unmarried, is not suppose to be negative. Only stupid conservative people would think conceiving a child negative simply because Shirley is unmarried.

      3. “Only stupid conservative people would think conceiving a child negative simply because Shirley is unmarried.”

Oh, men get women pregnant before/without marriage all the time nowadays. The only difference in Shirley Yeung’s case is there are multiple men. That’s the “real” issue. Again, double standards. 🙂

      4. Even before the scandal, her roles were downgraded to supporting actress.

Almost all Miss HK winners sadly they do not have great future ahead or maintained their high status.

      5. Except Kate Tsui. She is one of the rare MHK who made it to first line in TVB. Think the previous was Sonija Kwok.

  4. Yay for her, I am glad things are looking up and will keeping doing so.

Hope she just does her own thing, and doesn’t try to keep up with the Jones in her kiddo’s private elite preschool.

  5. Shirley is looking great. I am so happy for her wither new gig. I pray that her show is a great success and she has lots of celebrities appearing on it.

Glad that she is earning a salary to be independent and provide for her precious toddler.

    You go Shirley.

  6. Proud of you girl…alots of peoples supports you…keep it up

That’s a good girl. It’s a very good transition. If she has the hard working ethic, no need to go far away to work especially when her daughter needs her. 😀 🙁 LOL!

  8. I think selling beer in China is more lucrative than hosting a TV show in HK. She should have just continued what she was doing in China.

  9. Very happy for her 🙂 She has a bubbly character, hosting would be perfect. Still I hope she’ll act again as well.

  10. Glad to hear that she is doing well and having income for her and her family. Was a little worried and felt weird when I heard that she was being paid as a beer girl in China a while ago. Hopefully being back in HK, she has more time to spend with her daughter. Already 2 years old. Time flies.

Also, it’s strange that Shirley had a lot of backlash a few years ago when her incident happened, but many people support her now as a strong single mom. Time does dilute many things and as long as people bounce back, people forget.

Agree that her bubbly and happy personality onscreen might make her a more successful than an actress. Good luck to her future.

    1. I am also glad that Shirley Yeung has a optimistic personality. Otherwise, she might not be able to get through her big obstacles.

  11. She made the right choice to leave TVB at least she earns more right now, not some miserable income. Good for her as she’s the sole breadwinner of the family.
