Shirley Yeung’s Live Stream Success

Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), 46, has shifted her career focus to China, actively building her presence on social media platforms such as Douyin and Weibo. She frequently shares videos featuring singing, travel vlogs, cooking, everyday life, and regularly live streams to earn income.
Shirley has been live streaming tirelessly, at one point even offering paid chats, charging 1,200 Chinese yuan for a five-minute private conversation with fans. She was known to stream for over ten hours continuously, often working until the early hours of the morning. Yeung openly said she enjoyed the freedom of being a live streamer and hoped to break into China’s booming live-stream industry. Shirley’s hard work paid off–a publicly listed company recently invited her to host a live-stream sales session.
In a Douyin video, Shirley excitedly shared she was invited to Guangzhou to promote a brand of laundry and cleaning products via Shirley’s solo live-stream session. The brand would also offer special perks to her fans. Shirley was thrilled and slightly in disbelief upon receiving the invitation, exclaiming, “No way, am I dreaming?” and promised to prepare thoroughly for the opportunity.
Shirley rose to fame in 2001 after winning Miss Hong Kong, sweeping six titles, Champion, Miss Photogenic, Most Eye-Catching Online, Best Slim Figure, Sweetest Smile, and Best Legs. Dubbed the “Six-title Miss Hong Kong,” Shirley signed with TVB and was heavily promoted, starring in numerous dramas such as Angels of Mission <無名天使3D>, The Biter Bitten <人生馬戲團>, A Chip Off the Old Block <巴不得爸爸>, and Always Ready <隨時候命>. In 2011, she ended a 9-year relationship with actor Gregory Lee (李泳豪) and was later revealed to have had a daughter out of wedlock with another man. The negative news led to her stepping away from the limelight and shifting her career to China.
