William Chak Aspires to Be a Multi-Talented Artist

Since winning the title of Mr. Hong Kong 2010, William Chak went to the Solomon Islands to film special,Papua Solomons Treaure <森海尋寶>. He was satisfied with the ratings results when the special aired. William revealed that he will be performing at the upcoming TVBAnniversary show and film a travelogue in South Korea .

Did William wish to quickly transfer to the drama department to film series? Although he wished to act in series, William said that he would like to host programs as well. He felt that he could be a “multi-talented” artist.

Was the competition very fierce at TVB? While participating in the Mr. Hong Kong 2010 Contest, William said there were many fine candidates. William loved accepting new challenges and believed that comparison will promote progress. He considered being an artist as a job and did not mind whether he was quickly promoted or not.

Jayne: William Chak is getting good press coverage, which could mean a few things: 1) The Hong Kong presslikes him and will likely continue to feature him; 2) TVB is promoting him and allowing him to be more noticeable.

I’ll like to see William Chak cast as Michael Miu’s younger brother or son in a series!

  1. Don;t be too multi talented when you first started out if not you’re good at everything but excel in nothing.

  2. Glad that he is taking it one step at a time and not getting promoted too quickly. He should take acting classes first before he starts his first series. I think that way, he will have better audience feedback and reception so he can take on bigger roles in the future. It does seem like he does have potential and TVB might be positioning him to be the most successful Mr HK yet. Good luck to him.

  3. Jayne – looks like you are having a crush on Mr. Chak.

He never captivated me during the contest. He’s great at answering the media’s questions, which makes him extremely boring. After all these years of Mr. HK, I have yet to find my favorite.

  4. My favourite is still Stephen Huynh. 🙂

But, for the 2010 batch, I like William Chak. I agree with Jayne that the press seems to like him. So far, he has yet to have any negative news. But, I hope there will be more interesting news about him other than him wanting to be multi-talented and want to try many things. This has been repeated in many news liao. Hope to read something new.

  5. After all these years of Mr. HK, I have yet to find my favorite.

That’s what I’m experiencing too. There might be some who have good looks but none of them managed to capture my interest so far be it in acting, modelling, hosting, singing etcetera.

  6. Jayne, HK press never like anyone, for too long. In tabloid journalism, as the saying goes, there’s no eternal friends nor eternal enemies. Unless you happen to run a magazine called Appledaily…

  7. Oooohhh Apple Daily… ermm.. are they eternal enemies or friends??

  8. Pandamao, hehe yes I like William for his esay going personality. But I have yet to see him act.

I like Stephen Huynh and Benjamin Yuen for their looks, but at this point, it seems very hard for them to have breakthrough roles.

  9. @ Funn Lim – I think Apple Daily are definitely eternal enemies. They always have the most unflattering photos of celebrities up it’s scary, which is why they’re called some demon mirror or w/e it is in chinese (sorry i cant think of the right translation)

I actually think William has a lot of potential, so hopefully he will eventually have his chance to shine, but now it’s better to improve on whatever he wants to due, like acting or hosting, for example.

  10. Eh eh let him act first, don’t jinx it. He might be good, he might be a natural or he might be dead awful. Touch wood! Let me guess his first role; either the nice but dumb guy or the bad jerk boyfriend.

  11. @Lily:”They always have the most unflattering photos of celebrities up it’s scary”

Haha! I can attest to that. Appledaily is the eternal enemies to celebrities.
