In 2002, A-Mei (張惠妹) bought a home in Taipei for herself and her family for 130 million NT. Unfortunately, her mother could not acclimate to living in Taipei and thus would split her time between Taipei and her original home in Taitung. A-Mei wanted her mother to be comfortable so she recently bought a 200 millon NT home in New Taipei City hidden away in the mountains. The home faces a protected forest area and is extremely private and tranquil.
Recently, singer Luke Tsui (崔惟楷) posted photos of a luxurious villa on his personal social media and captioned it with “having a meeting in a magical place.” Sources say that these are pictures of A-Mei’s new home. Luke has since deleted the post possibly at A-Mei’s request.
A-Mei values privacy and her homes are shrouded in secrecy. It is said that her new four-level home is designed by a famous interior designer and every room has its own theme. The pictures from Luke’s social media showed the first and second floors. The home has a beautiful view of the mountains and a wide expanse of grass. The patio has recliners so that one could sunbathe and breathe the fresh air. The living and fining rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows allowing sunlight to stream in.
A-Mei was born in Taitung and is part of the Puyuma people- an indigenous group of the Taiwanese aborigines. Due to her upbringing, she really loves nature. She had once posted a photo on her social media of her bare feet in grass with the caption, “I’ve finally found a home in Taipei that feels like Taitung.”
