Hong Kong Actors With Much Younger Wives
With Marco Ngai‘s (魏駿傑) marriage breaking down due to his wife’s cheating, it was suspected that the pair’s 20-year-age gap made it difficult to sustain their relationship. Marco’s wife was only a college student when they got married, and as the years went by, they drifted apart.
Aside from Marco, below are three Hong Kong actors who married women who are also two decades younger than them. Some couples made it work, while others couldn’t because of their age gap:
Lawrence Ng
Fifty-five-year-old Lawrence Ng (吳啟華) married Chinese actress Shi Yangzi (石洋子), who is 21 years his junior, in 2007. After 12 months, they welcomed their daughter’s birth and decided to raise their family in Beijing. In 2014, the couple had an amicable divorce and they still take family vacations together.
Yangzi revealed the reason behind the divorce was “due to communication problems because of our [21-year] age gap, but I’ve been constantly trying to overcome it.” Nevertheless, the pair led separate lives four years prior to their divorce decision.
Aaron Kwok
Fifty-four-year-old Aaron Kwok (郭富城) and Chinese model Moka Fang (方媛) got married in 2017. Moka is 22 years younger than the superstar, and Moka’s father even admitted that he also grew up listening to Aaron’s music. Regardless of the public’s opinion, the couple is happily married and has two beautiful daughters, Chantelle and Charlotte.
Aaron loves spoiling his wife like a princess with lavish gifts, even buying 13 pairs of shoes for her in one shopping trip.
Donnie Yen
Fifty-six-year-old Donnie Yen (甄子丹) married Toronto heiress and beauty queen Cecilia Wang (汪詩詩) in 2003 after dating for three months. Cecilia was only 21 years old and got pregnant, while Donnie was already a divorced father.
Despite this, the couple made their marriage work and Cecilia often accompanies the superstar at promotional events and are not afraid of displaying their love for each other publicly. They have two children, Jasmine and James.

@wm2017 I think most people just have to understand one thing: do NOT use the exception to make the rule. Rule is if someone has a 20 year age gap with you regardless if it is younger or older or male or female, there WILL be more than just communication issues. Communication is a skillset. How you view and value life is a mindset. I believe exceptional cases are Kevin Cheng and Grace, Donnie Yen and Cecilia Wang, and more, but let’s not forget one thing: these guys were nice(r) guys to start with and had enough past relationship experience where they fucked up enough to learn. On the horizon to falling apart or already has: Benjamin Yuen and Bowie Cheung (10 year) plus Kenneth Ma and Jacqueline Wang (15 year age gap) –we all know how this ended.

@wm2017 There’s also Alex To, whose wife Ice Lee is 24 years younger than him….back when they married in 2012, he was 50, she was 26. At the time, the media made a big deal about the fact that Ice’s dad is the same age as Alex’s older brother Orlando (Alex and Orlando are 4 years apart) and Alex himself is one year OLDER than Ice’s mother. Yet 8 years later, Alex and Ice are still happily married and now have an adorable son too!
That’s right don’t forget about Kevin and Grace too. Really Donnie wife is a beauty queen? Sorry but I don’t find her that beauty she’s just okay looking.

Beauty pageants should be based on much more than physical beauty. I agree that in terms of physical beauty, she is not so great. She is all made up so can you imagine her in her bare face? Scary…
I find that many are more accepting when the man is older even if it is by 20+ years but many are not so accepting when the women are older. That is how my late parents were as they claimed men do not age as fast as women do. I think that is so unfair because if it is acceptable for men to be older why can’t women be older in a relationship? My late parents were very old school that they said even if a woman was 2-3 years older that is already too much while it is ok for the man to be 20+ years older. I used to think like them as I was brainwashed by them growing up but now I think just for myself. When any couple does not work out and have a big age gap, then I am sure they have other issues too so it is not just the age gap. Your age does not necessarily always define how mature you are plus other factors.
