Taking a hiatus after filming Another Era <再創世紀> in 2018 for motherhood, Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯) is ready to make her comeback drama again. The 41-year-old actress revealed that she is still passionate about acting, and even prepared for her comeback by announcing changing her Chinese name along with husband Him Law (羅子溢) to ensure maximum success and luck in their careers. Now that the couple’s daughter has turned six months, they are ready to dedicate more time to their work again.
Details leaked that Tavia’s upcoming drama is produced by Tommy Leung (梁家樹) starring Him Law, Chilam Cheung (張智霖), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), and Rain Li (李彩華). Though Tavia and Him will not share a romantic storyline in the drama, which will instead revolve around Chilam and Him’s characters and their family rivalries, fans are still eager to see the celebrity couple, whose last drama together was 2013’s The Hippocratic Crush 2 <On Call 36小時 II>.
This year, Tavia has been home taking care of their daughter Hera, while Him has been busy filming with TVB despite the pandemic. Despite the lackluster viewership ratings, Him’s recent performance in The Witness <木棘証人> earned praise for his acting skills, and he will likely be nominated for Best Actor.
After Him wraps up filming for TVB drama Children’s Hospital <兒科醫生>, he will join Tavia in Shenzhen where they will film their new series. Filming for their new project is expected to take approximately two months until the Lunar New Year holiday. Aside from the staggering eight-figure sum she was offered for the role, Tavia also does not mind working with her husband in China together, as this would allow her to keep an eye on Him, who has always been popular with female co-stars.
When asked to confirm if she will be filming a new drama with Him, Tavia vaguely answered, “We will be leaving Hong Kong for work, but we can’t release any details yet. We’ll let the official announcement come out first!” Asked if they will miss their daughter, Tavia said, “We’re working hard for her future!”
