Angelababy to Star in Hollywood’s “Independence Day 2”

After getting married with Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明) in May, Angelababy‘s career continued to be as busy as ever. Finding popularity in Mainland China in recent years, Angelababy also attracted Hollywood’s interest. Aside from a cameo role in this August’s Hollywood film, Hitman: Agent 47, Angelababy has signed on to Independence Day 2.

Angelababy was invited to join the movie’s press conference alongside Director Roland Emmerich and actors Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum. Dressed in a sharp floral dress, Angelababy stood out among the cast, who mostly dressed in dark colours that night.

Speaking with the press, Angelababy appeared calm and confident, displaying her fluent English. She shared her thoughts in being cast in a large-scale Hollywood film and how nervous she felt during the initial stages. Angelababy added that she felt honored to be given an opportunity to work with the talented cast.

Given a rather hefty role in Independence Day 4, Angelababy will star as a pilot. Her name appears eighth on the cast list. The movie is currently filming in the United States and will open in summer 2015.

    1. @msxie0714 I think amongst celebrities in the American culture, perhaps her name is rather ordinary. There are some far out names but hers is just not as far out.

      1. No. “Angelababy” would be a very odd name, even in Hollywood. I don’t know what they’ll do in terms of official credits in the movie, but chances are people will just call her Angela when speaking with her, if they don’t give her another nickname.

      1. @kolo Huh? No acid. I meant what I said. Her English is ok unless saying she isn’t speaking American accented English or English accented English is considered acid.
