Jacqueline Wong Returns to Hong Kong
Last April, Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) lost everything when she was caught cheating on Kenneth Ma (馬國明) with the married Andy Hui (許志安). The shocking scandal destroyed both her career and relationship all at once when TVB halted her work and froze her indefinitely while her boyfriend of three years, Kenneth, dumped her. Jacqueline fled to the United States to avoid public scrutiny, and she was rumored to have changed her name and switched to the real estate profession. After a long eight months, Jacqueline finally returned to Hong Kong from Los Angeles this morning.
It is speculated that TVB forgave the actress when they finally aired her anniversary drama Finding Her Voice <牛下女高音> not long ago, but some viewers threatened to boycott the series. As for Jacqueline, she began emerging on social media again to test the waters. However, she has not been able to calm the public’s anger, especially since she only issued an online apology.
Since TVB will broadcast her other drama, The Maid Alliance <丫鬟大聯盟> in which she plays a leading role, it is unclear whether she will promote the drama. Are plans in place to pave the way for her return to the entertainment industry?
When reporters reached out to Jacqueline’s ex-boyfriend Kenneth to ask if he knew about her return to Hong Kong, Kenneth said, “I didn’t know, I have no response.”

I dunno. I definitely think she did a terrible thing and hurt a lot of people. Her actions should have consequences, and as a public figure, for her to lose income over her actions is justified.
However. It is the holiday season, and it seems like her family is currently in HK. I don’t think we should shame her for flying back to see them and to spend time with them after being away for so long. How many of us would want to spend the holidays alone?

Thou I have to say 牛下女高音 was okay.. Yes she was probably an eye sore. Not for nothing TVB did not edit the story line either, where it talks about having an affair episode 11. So who’s not to say, TVB is not using this opportunity and is maneuvering this in the behind!

@m0m0 Exactly, Coffee Lam actually has more luck after leaving TVB since she’s doing well in her utubing channel. Ma Choi – The bi girl right? Yes, she’s gone and finally married a guy and away from TVB. JW is indeed wrong but it always takes 2 to tango. How come no one is harassing the dog AH and the woman gets all the blame and ridicule? Did he not touch her in that taxi? Did he not know he’s married? You know what I mean come on. I don’t care what she did personally so it didn’t stop me from enjoying that Voice series since the veterans were the leads.
@wm2017 I agree with you. I don’t know why JW is getting the brunt of the hate when it takes 2 to tango, and AH was behaving intimately with her as well. Same like you, what she does personally doesn’t concern me. I also really enjoyed watching Finding Her Voice as I like all the veteran actors. So I’m not going to ban watching her dramas because there are other actors and actresses that I want to see. I always thought banning her drama is being unfair to the other actors and actresses who had worked so hard on it.

i don’t think that no one is blaming AH. the reason JW is getting all the blame b/c she’s making all this noise or the media is reporting on her and not AH. i bet if they start reporting AH, people will critize his behavior as well. he’s got good PR ride low during this period.
@m0m0 Exactly. The spotlight is on Jacqueline right now because she came back to HK (and made such a public display of it in the process). If Andy were to come out in public, the media would criticize him too (as it is, they already did so when Sammi posted a backstage picture of herself during her concert that “accidentally” showed Andy in the background— fans / media went ballistic, some people even went as far as reprimanding Sammi for not checking her pictures before posting them…). So for people to say that only Jacqueline is getting all the hate and Andy isn’t, that’s not exactly a true statement…
@wm2017 Maybe that’s why he is wise to stay out of the public eye all this time. At least he has some dignity for himself and it’s a way of protecting Sammi too. If he appears in public again, people would being up the matter and it hurt his wife again. But this JW, as usual is lack of maturity and dignity. Oh well, if she can make deliberately have an affair with someone’s husband and two timing her boyfriend, it speaks a lot about her personality. Like Kenneth said previously she lacks maturity. All I can say, she came back too soon. Drama queen will cause drama again if she appears on tv again.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if TVB was behind this…the timing is too suspicious. Yes, on the one hand, it makes sense for Jacqueline to want to spend the holidays with her family, but on the other hand, if that were truly the case, why the interview at the airport? Taking a step further back, how would the media have known about her returning and subsequently wait for her at the airport? Also, her manager (someone from TVB) was with her…if the intent was to return secretly to spend time with her family and nothing else, why would all that public spectacle be necessary? Besides, it’s not like TVB doesn’t have a history of doing this kind of stuff….taking artists’ personal situations and using them for their own advantage is part of how TVB operates.

There is nothing wrong for Jacqueline Wong to return to Hong Kong to visit her family during Christmas time. But the timing is a bit “too perfect” for her, probably arranged by TVB, right after the airing of “Finding Her Voice” and before the airing of “The Maid Alliance”, both of which are her already-filmed drama series. She could have returned to Hong Kong secretly and spends time with her family. But she spread her return news to the media and met with reporters in Hong Kong airport, and let everyone know. What was her intention ………. to return to TVB and be one of their promoting actresses?
She hooked herself up to Andy Hui, not because she loved him, she used her body to get close to Andy so that she could get a spot in the music industry. Probably Andy Hui could help her to become a popular singer or teach her how to sing better.
Jacqueline is a very aggressive. ambitious and scheming woman. She used Kenneth to get promoted in TVB and Andy to get herself in to the music industry. She used all the shortcuts to promote herself quickly, both in TVB and in music industry. I have a lot of doubt in this woman. She is not simple, who just loves acting.
@orchid123 I watched the interview at the airport and honestly, it looked really staged and fake, as though the moment she stepped off the plane, she was already expecting reporters there and was given a script on what to say. Most celebrities in that situation (returning to HK for personal reasons and not wanting people to know) would be trying their darndest to avoid the reporters and not respond to anything they ask, but Jacqueline did the opposite — she actually stopped to pose for the cameras, do an interview, and even when she was walking to the car, she was still answering reporters questions. Later on, they also made a big deal of her sister visiting her at home afterwards too (her sister didn’t do an interview, but she went down to acknowledge the presence of the reporters that were camped outside the home, which I honestly felt was unnecessary).

@orchid123 I disagree. Like others have said, there are plenty of ways to get into the music industry…if that was truly JW’s goal, she would’ve gone after a record company exec or big name music producer instead, not a “has been” singer already past his prime.
I also feel that JW went after Andy because she was somehow infatuated with him like @coralie said. Andy may not be much now, but he truly was a popular star back during HK music industry’s golden age, plus he’s married to one of the biggest names in HK entertainment…even as a “has been”, I’m pretty sure to some one like JW, Andy was probably the biggest star in her circle of friends, which made him attractive…and yes, she probably thought she could get away with it, sort of like a “fangirl” obsession where your focus is on just the one person and nothing else (and Andy obviously didn’t object). I think it’s JW’s immaturity that did her in and to be honest, she IS better off changing careers because I don’t think she’s suited for Asian showbiz…

Andy doesnt know how to sing. I dont even get why he is popular as a singer. Besides, if she wanted to get a spot in music, wouldnt it have been better for her to get in the good graces of Sammy like becoming her friends or something like that? Sammy has more influence than Andy.

It is always easier for women to go after men, not vice versa. Jacqueline Wong would need to work 100+ times harder to make friends with Sammi. Jacqueline Wong chose to take the shortcut.
Of course, Sammi is a more popular and influential singer in the music industry than Andy, but Sammi is not that stupid to be “trapped” to help Jacqueline become a popular singer.

JW never apologised publicly to the wronged parties. Public apologies are needed because all the wronged parties are public figures. YES. AH is at fault but he did (seem to) have painfully eaten humble pie for what he did to his wife. And boy! He is still paying! On the other hand JW is free to do now what she wants but forever more, her roles will never be the lead, unless the lead actor is the villain. And her acting isn’t so wonderful that others cannot replace her. In other words, she is now & forever more – tainted. It would be too much of TVB to think the public would accept her (or him) back to where they were. That’s how it is. The public loves and the public burns. She also now has to handle how men in future will form relationships with her; because right now, she is only going to be a tramp for many. I wish her the best but she should find other means of supporting herself other than being a performing artiste.

Sonija Kwok was shipped to China by TVB for dating Michael Tao Tai-Yu (陶大宇) who was married at that time. She was then frozen and ended up staying in China for many years.
Sonija was a promising actress of TVB at that time. Her career was totally ruined as a result. Same applied to Sire Ma and Coffee Lam and maybe others.
If Jacqueline Wong is accepted by TVB again, she is super super lucky and it will re-write TVB history.
@bubbles23 I don’t think we can compare HK with Hollywood.. Hollywood is more internationally recognized.. media changes by the minute. HK is just a city, which is under China. Hence, it’s harder for HK or even China stars to make a come back… and in JWs case, we don’t know if Chinas accepted her yet. The difference is Sonja has market in China…. TVB is not stupid.

She was dating a not that famous actor Michael forgot his last name before the Twilight fame. She dumped the guy for RP. Every time a magazine did an article about her, they always mentioned the cheating scandal, even now! Many guys who cheated before, don’t have 100% of their media spread always mention their cheating scandal. She even has a president constantly howling on how much of a cheater she was. And if she has a new relationship shop, then ended and has a new one without an official statement she has ended the previous relationship, the first thing all the mags said was she cheated on her last partner! Instead of checking/contact her for comment, they know the title KS cheat again sells more than KS has a new partner! If you read any comments on YouTube on any movie trailer she’s in, people are still going on about the cheating scandal. How is that not a scratch? The hatred people has for her are still going even to this day, like what? 10yrs after?
The only reason why KS is still doing movie is because she was smart and more competent than JW, so she changed her work direction to just Indy, basically not getting pay much and just do small movie, and small Indy movie just care about competent actors and not the “in trend box office draw” actors. All the directors knew she’s competent, all her co-stars love her, and because of that, she’s still working. She’s not just scratched, she basically got bulldozers over, but she picked herself up and faced the public head on to get to where she is today.
I do know that you are trying to say there is a different in the West and the east when it comes to treatment of women and cheating but KS does have to deal with the scandal for a good 3-5 yrs before it got easier for her. And the win in France helps a lot. She went off Hollywood and to another country, that’s say something!

I doubt she will be making a comeback. Most likely TVB just scraping off whatever they can from her, because she already made them lose so much money already. TVB already has trouble currently due to the fierce competition from mainland series, not showing a decently good show is a waste of resources that they don’t have.
I agree TVB possibly did a deal with JW so that her timing of going back spot on with their schedule though. However, it’s more along the line of: I know you want to be with family during the holidays season so here is how we will do it.
About whether she approaches Andy to get into the music industry, and not Sammy, I think that whole idea is just dumb -.- easier to just sleep with the producer of the labels than with Andy >_> because guess what, even if Andy connects her, she would still need to sleep with them for a chance, why bother with a middle man tangle \-.-/ did she sleep with Andy for money? Absolutely! For a chance to work in the music industry? Nope! Why work when you can just be the other woman n get money lol
